"Thank you, [Member Name Removed]! We strive to provide this level of service every time. Please let us know if there is anything else you need."
They've been great. The products they install were of high quality. Whenever we have issues, they have a very quick response time.
"We have attempted to contact this customer to rectify the situation to the best of our ability. To date, he has not responded and we were told by his wife to not expect a call back. The lack of communication to this customer was entirely our fault. We dropped the ball in doing more research on his system to find out if we could find parts (it turned out we couldn't, as it is an obsolete system.) After we exhausted all our options and waited for phone calls from distributors, more than a week had passed and the job had fallen off our radar. Again, our fault. In regards to the time spent on site, this was a complex problem with multiple issues occurring, we spent a lot of time performing our diagnostic, around 5 hours total, which we know is not exactly convenient for the customer. We performed this diagnostic for the originally quoted price of $99 and he did receive his $20 Angie's List Discount. If our quoted price for repairs seemed exorbitant, that is a matter of not understanding what our direct costs are above and beyond the cost of the part, and that is exactly why we quote the work before we perform it. Finally, the documentation our technician was studying was an install manual that we printed out here. When we attempted to contact the customer, we offered to give him this printout. I do understand this was a frustrating experience and we take full responsibility. We are a small business that strives to provide excellent service every day and we take it seriously when this doesn't happen."
I discussed our angst with how much we were paying out for our heating equipment, and the lack of warranties on the coil, etc., with Roger Foss, the owner, and asked him to go to bat for us with Rheem in hopes of some mitigation of the cost. Roger was very pleasant and agreed to look into it. He later visited us, looked over the equipment, and discussed it further with his vendor. He ultimately met with us and stated that the technician overlooked the fact that replacement of the outdoor unit should have been linked with replacement of a matching indoor coil to maintain efficiency. He agreed to replace the indoor unit at no cost to us, a savings of $1758 plus tax. With a further slight upgrade we would then qualify for $850 worth of rebates and tax credits. We elected to go ahead with his proposal
While we were still not happy with the expense of our heating system over the years, we thought Roger Foss put a lot of time and effort into reaching a satisfactory solution which gave us a more efficient system with a better warranty and allowed us to take advantage of almost $1000 worth of rebates and tax credits, while his company absorbing almost $2000 of the total cost of the new system. He was a gentleman throughout and treated us with respect and courtesy. His technicians were all prompt, pleasant, and did good work.
I called to about 8 plumbing and HVAC companies in the area and Foss was by far the least expensive. They weren't able to come out for about a week after I called, but for several hundred dollars in savings I was OK with that. The tech was prompt, finished the job in about an hour and a half, and even used his own connectors for the range so I could return the ones I bought. The line was finished nicely behind the stove and wasn't just a loose connector like I was expecting. I was not billed extra for the range hookup and was charged exactly what I was quoted. He even took my old hot water heater at no charge, saving me a trip to the recycling center.
