"Even though the work took a little longer than promised, the installer did a wonderful job. He was very courteous and did his best to ensure the job was perfect. He even stayed until 9:30 pm to finish the job on a Saturday night. I would recommend Mark Levy and his team for any cabinet job. He also have a group of professionals if you need other work complete - ie: bathrooom countertop and facuet installations."

"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. "I got this item for a bargain at a second hand store. It was made in England in the 1920's. Someone painted it pink! Metropolitan stripped and re-finished the cabinet. Looked brand new when it came back to me. Pricing was fair for the excellent work done."

For a smaller project, such as installing cabinets in a bathroom, you can expect the work to take a week or less. Your cabinet installation expert will be able to provide you with a realistic timeframe.

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

Pre-made cabinets are cost-effective, readily available, and come in various styles and finishes.

Using a shim or another type of self-leveling feet on the bottom edge of your cabinet bases will help to level them out if you’re installing them on a less-than-level surface. To make this process easier, you can add your shims before attaching the bases to your cabinets while they’re still light and easy to move around.

It’s best to stick with lightweight cabinets, such as medium-density fiberboard, if you don’t have a wall stud to secure them to. Unless you’re attaching the cabinet to a flat board attached to wall studs, it’s best not to risk it with heavy cabinetry or contents. Solid wood cabinets and heavy dishware should be avoided if you cannot secure the cabinet to a wall stud. Either way, always check the weight on your wall anchors and be sure not to exceed it.
