"After aerating, seating, and fertilizing for 16 years and having my tall fescue scorch in the middle of the summer every year, I decided to go with Zoysia Sod. Summer is the season that I personally want to enjoy a beautiful Lawn. I reached out to Angie and Year Round lawn maintenance came up. They gave me the best estimate of everyone else I had spoken with. Jimmy, The Owner explained the process to me and we agreed to get the job done. His team was very professional, they actually tweaked my irrigation system so that the new sod would get the proper watering that was needed. After the job was done, I was a little nervous at first waiting for it to come in. Jimmy’s team assured me that we were on the right track and everything would be just fine. "I must say that I did not actually hire them. I thought the problem was my irrigation system. When they cam out to check, they informed me that it was not an irrigation problem but a problem with the water lines coming into the house. I appreciate their honesty and work ethic. "Nothing short of excellent. Landon was extremely educated, informative, prompt, and did exactly what he said he was going to do. He showed up on time and got my irrigation system up and running as if it was never down in the first place. Very fair price and outstanding quality work.   • Pros: Provides an instant, lush lawn and immediate curb appeal. It's more resistant to weeds and erosion, can be installed any time during the growing season, and offers a consistent appearance.

  • Cons: Has a higher upfront cost, typically $0.90 to $1.80 more per square foot than seed. It offers fewer grass varieties and must be installed immediately upon delivery.

Seed:

  • Pros: Less expensive upfront, making it a budget-friendly option. It offers a wider variety of grass types and is easier for a DIY installation.

  • Cons: Takes much longer to establish, potentially up to two years for a full lawn. It requires more maintenance, including regular weed control, and is more difficult to cultivate.

Ultimately, if you want a beautiful lawn quickly and have a larger budget, sod is an excellent choice. If you are patient, want to save money, and prefer a wider selection of grass types, seeding may be the better option.
