Working with Kitchen Tune-Up was better than I expected. Jim, Kevin and Cameron (the installers) were the best. Very detailed oriented..making sure everything looked perfect. The craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. Sam and Tyler were so helpful in helping me make some decisions and were always quick to respond to any questions and always kept me in the loop! I highly recommend Kitchen Tune-Up!!!

These folks really care about doing a good job. They would not leave until they were sure that my wife and I were 100% satisfied. They provided great value for the cost of the job. Craig and Tyler are great (and fun) to work with. I highly recommend there company to anyone.

Kitchen Tune Up: My wife and I recently decided to update our kitchen. We had several estimators come and give us their offers for us to decide. I saw an add for Kitchen Tune Up and called them. The owner Mark, came to our home, sat, listened to what we wanted, took measurements and provided us with his professional suggestions. We were impressed with his presentation and the fact that he let us take our time with no pressure. We decided to give him the contract. In no time the project was under way, completed to our satisfaction and very reasonable. Teresa and Shawn showed up on time, prepare their work area, and went right at their task. They did a remarkable job, and cleaned up after completion. Mark went the extra mile with his detailing to ensure we were satisfied with the appearance of my wife's desires. Mark turned our outdated kitchen into a delight for my wife. She is so pleased that every time we have guest She has to show them her new kitchen and watch them in awe. Corresponding with his family telephonicly when necessary was a delightful experience, for someone was always available and leaving messages was not necessary. The owner Mark runs his business professional and cares for his customers satisfaction. I highly rate Mark a number one General Contractor and have more projects for him. Extra thanks to Theresa and Mark

We were looking to refresh and update the look of our 21-year-old kitchen and master bathroom for resale but did not have the budget for replacing the cabinets. Our actual cabinets were still in great shape, but the outsides looked dated and had some problem areas. We opted for refacing, which puts a new surface on existing cabinets and replaces doors and hardware. We also replaced our laminate countertops with granite and under mount sinks. After comparing other companies, we chose Kitchen Tune-Up. We worked with Mark Levy, who directed and arranged the entire process. He explained the procedure step-by-step. We made our 50% down payment in mid May and our final payment in mid August. The entire process took a little longer than we expected. There was a point at which we believe we got “lost in the cracks.” Jim did the actual refacing and installing and his work was very professional. He took great care to satisfy us. He always made very efficient use of his time and cleaned up afterwards. In the process, we had to provide the new kitchen faucet, which we had already bought, and then choose the granite and sink from BBG in Newport News. We also drove out to Richmond to choose which granite slab we wanted. When the granite was being installed, only two people were sent. They were obviously struggling to maneuver 800 lbs. of granite into place. We did have to pay extra to have some sheetrock repaired after it was damaged by the granite installation in the bathroom. We also had two more cabinets refaced in other bathrooms. Anyway, both the kitchen and master bath look really great! They just look brighter, newer and definitely more up-to-date! We are very happy at how it all turned out!

We redid our kitchen with Kitchen Tuneup, and we were over all relatively satisfied. From day one, there have been little things that we have decided to over look as they were not a remodeling company, as much as a touch up and freshenup what we already have company, however, the laminate began to peel within the first year of the work being done, the trim pieces around our large "special order color" island popped off and constantly have to be reattached, and a drawer bottom became saggy, all which we continued to deal with. THEN the dishwasher flooded and we needed Kitchen Tuneups help. As I mentioned one our colors were special order and so we were at their mercy to help us get some new trim etc. not once did we ask them to do any work for free, or under warranty which we understood to have expired by this time, but all we have gotten since Sept of 2014 and this is not 2/2015 is the run around and excuse after excuse, even that the product came in at one point and was lost at another job. I don't know what to do, we don't know where to turn! I am sure this review is not going to help my cause but I feel it is only right that if you decide to deal with this company, know that once they are done, don't expect help because you will get open ended promises and nothing but double talk. They have the nerve to use our kitchen in their ad, but won't find the time to do what is right by their customer once the job is finished. I guess it is time to contact the other associations they are affiliated with as well.

What was done: Kitchen Tune-Up (Hampton Roads, VA) installed a kitchen peninsula, an overhead cabinet, redoored/refaced our old cabinets, added spice rack and lazy susan. Pros: Our kitchen looks much better than before, and the peninsula added much needed storage space. Reasonably priced. Cons: We were promised by the franchise owner, Mark, that the kitchen would be done in about a week; instead, it was finished a month and a half (!) later. As mentioned in another review, the owner is not prompt in answering emails/phone calls and had to be constantly prodded to get things done.

At first everything seemed right as price was less than Home Depot. Mark said he would come periodically and inspect the progress which was only done once. He also said he would come the last day to make sure everything wes done correctly, that did not happened. My wife called, left messages. I emailed Mark to let him know there were a few issues. Asked to please give my wife a call to set up an appt. Jerry just showed up to do a measure. This was 2 weeks ago. The kitchen is small and should not have this many flaws! Now we are told they under staffed and to wait until after the holidays!

I completed my contract over a month ago, paid half of the total cost up front and all I have received is someone coming out last week on short notice to measure my counter tops for the granit replacements.

Even though the work took a little longer than promised, the installer did a wonderful job. He was very courteous and did his best to ensure the job was perfect. He even stayed until 9:30 pm to finish the job on a Saturday night. I would recommend Mark Levy and his team for any cabinet job. He also have a group of professionals if you need other work complete - ie: bathrooom countertop and facuet installations.

the finished cabinets do look good but on his last day, he said he had completed the job. however, the next day, i realized he had not placed trim on all the edges. it took months for them to come back and complete the job. also, for the glass inset cabinets, they are not held in place by the correct size brackets so they "wiggle" and are not sturdy. in addition, he didn't use a long enough screw to hold one of the doors in place and it fell off within 3 months

"Client could not grant access during normal working hours. We offer a 5 year warranty on materials and workmanship. We were never advised of a problem or we would have taken care of it."

Great initial meeting and measuring; the price was higher than I expected but there was a guarantee connected to it. Installation was very lengthy because the drawers were the wrong size and needed to be remade on site. The carpenter was TERRIFIC! He was really stuck, poor guy. Very neat, competent, nice to chat with.
Response from

"Sometimes material comes in the wrong size. Our technicians are skilled enough to make it work the first time, regardless of the issues or time required."

OUTSTANDING..Mark is easy to work with and his prices are VERY fair. We felt comfortable with Mark immediately. He knows his trade and is very professional. He prides himself on being on time and having available samples of wood types and cabinet examples. All references we called spoke VERY highly of Mark and his work. I will recommend Mark to others.

We had some kitchen cabinets refaced and some new cabinets put in. Mark came out to give us an estimate and was very relaxed, friendly, and helpful. We were able to get much more for less money than Home Depot Home Services had offered. The two men who did the installation were friendly and competent, but not always on time. Daily cleanup wasn't as throrough as I wished for. I also had to wait two extra weeks for a custom cabinent and one area to be done over, both of which I think could've been planned for better. But Mark made sure my kitchen was funtional as soon as possible and made sure I was happy with the end result, which I am.

Kitchen Tune Up was the best choice I could have made. Mark came to our rescue when we tried to do remodeling on our own. He was understanding and turned our mess into something to be proud of. He was there to help us figure out what to do with our cabinets. All the workmen were kind, professional, and skilled. Any one who is thinking of remodeling themselves, call Mark first. I know if we need him again he will respond right away. Thanks Mark, you made my holidays.
