We have hand picked the very best subcontractors in the area (plumbing, electrical, painting, tile, flooring, etc.) so no job is too big or too small for us. The owner, Jimmy Baart is a 3rd generation cabinet maker who has over 20 years of experience in all of your cabinet & kitchen & bath remodeling needs. Jimmy personally designs & installs all of CI Cabinetry’s kitchens & baths so you can be rest assured that you will receive the best customer service in the industry. It is this “hands on” approach that we believe sets us apart from the rest!

"CI Cabinetry helped us remodel our kitchen. Jimmy, the owner, was great to work with. We told him what we wanted to do and he came up with a 3-D floor plan which was key in helping us fine tune our plan. He was very helpful, communicative and professional. His workers were also great to work with and we were glad to have them in our home. We could not be happier with the finished project. We are starting on remodeling our master bathroom and updating the vanity in one of our other bathrooms. It was an easy decision to go through CI Cabinetry again for our bathroom cabinet needs."

Locally owned & operated. Additional address - 4039 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Cost is determined by the job. See website for additional services areas. Offering custom color finishes, doors, drawer sizes, laundry hampers, jewelry inserts, tie & belt organizers. Additional DBA - Closets of Virginia LLC.

"We had a wonderful experience with Closets of Virginia. We were looking to transform a small nook in the playroom into storage but didn't know exactly what we wanted. Steven came for the consultation, I told him what our needs were, and he had great ideas on what could and could not be done with the space. I trusted his expertise on dimensions and they ended up being perfect. I love that the shelves are adjustable so you don't feel like you are locked into a permanent decision. He gave us our quote very quickly and he was very responsive whenever we reached out. Zack, the installer was extremely professional and had great attention to detail. He noticed that one of the pieces would end up leaving a bit of a gap due to our walls being uneven. He had a new piece cut to be picked up and still completed the job promptly. Would highly recommend working with Closets of Virginia!"

"Working with Javier helps to understand how the insurance coverage works. This was not something I could have done on my own. Javier acted almost like an insurance attorney providing invaluable advice. So, the moral of the story is that you need Javier to guide you through your coverage. However, this does not mean that you leave everything to Javier and sit in the corner. You have to understand what is covered and what is not and be ready to supplement your extras out of your pocket to realize your own expectations. The paintwork is a good example; the insurance won't pay the Benjamin Moore paint, and what they pay for doesn’t do much beauty. Then you have to follow up and make sure you pay the extra for what you really want. This works with everything; if you work with Javier on your budget, you will need to take his lead with the third-party contractors. The other deceptive element of insurance is the timing; if you depend on the money coming from the insurance, the process takes forever. The insurance reinstallation is a business model, a system, and there is no logic to it. When supplemental requests are involved, the insurance pays $1000 to accommodation instead of instantly approving a $500 supplemental. The process is very frustrating, and people get frustrated; however, Javier NEVER says NO. Whatever you want, he finds a way to deliver. He did the re-paint job for free with the paint of my choice. I was unhappy with some installations. He immediately got them fixed. One other thing is that Javier never bothered me with payment timing. He was pretty flexible. He did not even call for follow-up. I read the negative reviews on the website, and I realized I had most of them myself, BUT the point is Javier is not the reason. Construction work is an expensive open-ended process; the products we usually get are not top-notch Armani Case; they are what insurance covers and the process is frustratingly time-consuming unless you pay up-front and ready to pay for extras. So the frustration-cause is not Javier; it is the difference between what it is and what we want to be. Javier worked on my place for several months; his team is reliable, honest, and trustable."

MLM was started with a simple concept: Potential clients, no matter what their individual or family needs, should always be approached with a genuine desire to understand their vision all while delivering a product that brings their dream to life.

"Great MLM did the roof installation. Everything worked out very well on time all aspects of the installation met my expectations. In addition, we had a gutter installation and gutter guards . Modifications were needed all went well on time follow up professional service. I would use MLM for further work and also would recommend them to friends and family"

Roscoe has been drywalling, plastering, and completing other handy work ever since he can remember. He was brought up learning the trade, which he now has mastered, from his father and older siblings. You won't find a more genuine and dedicated worker.

"Punctual, did a great job. Price was very reasonable. Roscoe is a joyful person and a master at his craft but like most artist, a bit messy. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning up drywall dust and scraping blobs of plaster off the floor. make sure he drapes the area and covers the floor before work start. Overall very pleased."

We are a locally owned and operated and part of national franchise system. We specialize in AFFORDABLE kitchen and bath remodeling (without disrupting your life). We believe in No-Excuses Customer Service. In fact, we live by the following Five Trust Points; #1 - We listen carefully, develop an organized plan and fulfill all of the terms of our agreement. #2 - We arrive on time because we respect your need for dependable Scheduling. #3 - We respect your home, protect the work area and clean up after ourselves daily. #4 - If something comes up that couldn't be anticipated, we work out agreeable solutions and put it in writing before we modify the scope of work and/or budget. #5- We understand the importance of communication and we will always return your calls within 24 hrs.

"The work was completed as described. The people were all very nice, professional, on time each day, great clean up. I wanted to change 1990s fruitwood stained alder wood cabinet doors and boxes to painted white. Mark convinced me that painting was not a good idea d/t the problems, over time, that accompany paint. He was very nice, not pushy. I went with the "tune up" but wish I had gone with the paint. The cabinets do look "tuned up" They have a shine but just look like they have been washed down and a shine product applied. This is of course what was basically explained to me so the company did what they said they do. I guess my point is that if you have an older home, original brown stain to wood and want to "update" then you should either 1) Replace the cabinets (which I could not afford to do) or 2) go with your gut and get them painted because just "tuning up" is not going to make you happy. I wish I would have gone with the white painted look. It would have been about the same amount of money and I know I would have been happier. I just had 14 (6 panel doors) replaced and all existing window and baseboard trim for 3 bedrooms, 5 closet and 12ft hall, WHICH HAD THE SAME FRUITWOOD STAIN, done for $2600.00, price including painting everything white AND INSTALLING NEW DOORS. IT looks GREAT and I am so happy with it. Mark and his company did what they said they would do and there is no fault with them. I do think this is basically a good cleanse with a gloss top coating of KitchenFit proprietary product and significantly overpriced. BTW I had estimates of $2700.00 to 3500.00 for painting of the cabinets so price was not the deciding factor for me; it was the sales pitch. Kitchen Fit was just more convincing r/t longevity of the work product. Expensive lesson learned."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Custom furniture can provide more efficient storage and maximize resources.

Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.

A "reach-in pantry" is a smaller, cabinet-style pantry that allows you to grab items by simply reaching inside. On the other hand, a "walk-in pantry" is like a closet or small room that offers a larger space that you can physically enter to get your food. Walk-in pantries allow for more customizable shelving. A reach-in pantry is usually around 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep, while a walk-in pantry is closer to 5 feet by 5 feet or larger.

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.

You can turn an adjacent room into a walking closet by just rearranging the room. This means removing the furniture and adding racks and an island in the center if you have that in your budget. Houses with two bedrooms connected to each other are great options for large walk-in closets that don't require any structural changes or much building whatsoever.
