"Wade was excellent in his customer service especially his patience and willing to listen to my specific needs and kept me informed everyday. He replaced the stripping around my garage and replaced a stand alone door. He also powerwashed, replaced wood planks, and spray painted my deck. He repaired holes in my vinyl siding, power wash the whole house. I am very pleased with his work and would hire him again without hesitation."

"Very efficient ,got an appointment right away ,the next day. Mr. Chris arrived on time and was actually 15 minutes early. He installed a kitchen faucet and a solar motion light. Also replaced all the parts that were leaking. He was very thorough and made sure everything was working before he left. Mr. Chris was very friendly and easy to talk to, answered all questions. Yes I will recommend him to my neighbors. Great job Chris. Thank you. Ms. [Consumer Name Removed]"

"Excellent experience from beginning to end. I have already recommended them to others. The project was top notch. Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they finished the project early and were willing to reschedule the final walkthrough multiple times to accommodate our schedule. Final project turned out great!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

In some cases, you can use a fireplace once the insert has been removed. However, before burning a fire, you must have a professional inspect it and the chimney to make sure they're functioning properly and no damage has occurred from removing the insert. That’s because using a fireplace without an insert could create fire hazards due to issues with airflow and heat dispersion, depending on the fireplace design and material. A professional can advise on whether you should make certain repairs or modifications before using your fireplace as an open hearth.

Absolutely! Smoke alarms are lifesavers. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), per 1,000 reported home fires, homes without working smoke alarms have a death rate nearly twice as high as those that do have working alarms. So remember to ensure you have enough installed in your home and that they are working and in good shape.

A chimney requires both a cover and a cap, but these parts often get confused with one another. A chimney cover seals the top of the chimney around the flue pipe to prevent water from entering the chimney. A chimney cap is a piece that sits above the flue to prevent animals, debris, and water from entering the flue.

A hot fire alone will not remove significant creosote buildup and can be dangerous, as it risks causing a chimney fire. While the warmth from a fire can help loosen stuck tar, making treatments like creosote logs more effective, it is not a substitute for proper cleaning. For existing creosote, the safest and most effective method is to have your chimney professionally cleaned by a chimney sweep.

Ensure you have a safe environment for them to work on, and there aren’t items such as logs, build-up of yard materials, missing or damaged shingles, and weak areas on the roof. Communicate any known electrical issues with contractors at the beginning of the project, and consider hiring an electrician to fix those. Finally, if you are attempting the project yourself, do so when there isn’t any rain, and you can safely get your footing on the roof using proper equipment, such as an extension ladder. Don’t attempt this alone, and have a helper nearby to assist.
