"Majestic did a fine job.  The crew was professional and efficient, working over two days to pack-out the old house and do the move the following day.  Packing was well done, nothing was broken, and boxes all made it to the proper rooms in the new home.  One minor issue concerning wardrobe boxes: we were informed that a separate charge ($10 per box) would be assessed if they were not unpacked by the time the move was completed.  This was difficult to accomplish since the closets were used by the crew to place boxes designated for each of the bedrooms.  However, the charge could be credited once we emptied the boxes and called Majestic to come back and retrieve them, which we did following after a couple of days of unpacking.  Majestic came by the next day after I called, and picked up the wardrobe boxes, as well as a large number of additional boxes and packing paper.  Again, not a big deal...just something to be aware of on move day."

"Overall, pretty well.  We're a military family and move a lot, where the military usually pays for a full service moving company.  This was the first time we've done a local move in about 15 years; so the packing and moving is up to us.
Two Marines Moving is up front with their pricing and originally recommended overkill on the time and number of movers.  After some negotiation we agreed on three movers for 4 hours.  I asked for a shorter period, but they seems to schedule in four hour blocks, just so they don't overcommit. They adjust the price based on the actual time worked, breaking down in 10 minute intervals.  They ended up completing the work in just over two hours, including travel time from one location to the other.
They called the day before the move to confirm; I asked them to send only two movers.  Since this was such a short distance move, my family moved most of the small stuff (closets/dresser drawers/books) ourselves and made great progress and in my opinion, would only need two movers.
The day of the move, they arrived with three movers.  When asked, they stated that they thought they would need three people, but would only charge me for two.  The third mover (the crew chief) ended up driving the truck and maneuvering items inside the truck.
The two movers (both currently serving military members - one Army Reserve and one Army National Guard) worked hard moving our stuff on a hot day.  That being said, they seemed to be a bit unseasoned; it was a bit like asking your friends to help you move during college.   Not that that there's anything wrong with that, but they didn't seem to know some of the tricks of the trade that would have saved them a bit of time (and a bit of a backache).
I assisted a bit, helping watch out for scuffed walls or the errant bed being lifted into a ceiling fan.
I did note that they didn't shrink wrap the couches all the way to the bottom, which became a little of an issue when they started sliding my stuff on the floor of the truck.  The sliding was a bit of a concern as well, since the leg of one dresser got a chip in it from being slid.  Additionally, they manhandled my small deep freeze a bit, but when challenged, quickly carried it another way that met with my approval.
Overall, they did a good job.  But like another reviewer said, I'd recommend being involved to ensure that they're handling your stuff the way you want it handled.  They will do what you ask; but if you're not involved, they will do what works best for them.  I recommend being a bit more hands on during the move and/or make your preferences known up front to manage expectations.

"The quality of work is excellent.  Unfortunately, their boss directed his crew to ignore the obvious tilt of this old house, and we had to insist that the top of the closet doors be parallel to the ceiling!  He also got surly when my husband and I insisted that we both see the end result before paying him.  I hope this guy reverts to the personality we saw a couple of years ago and leaves the current one behind.

"They were very customer-focused and customer satisfaction was very important to them. We received a detailed written estimate to remove 8ft of ceiling all around the bump-out and bedroom from Rick Hall. He was also able to quickly arranged an electrician to come at the same time to add ceiling lights. On the day of the job, his brother Eric and crew arrived but Rick was sick. We were a bit disappointed as we had asked if he would be here to detail the work ensuring all that he had recommended was carried out. He said he would but was really sick.

They covered the carpets from the main door to the second level bedroom with plastic sheeting and did a great job totally protecting the stairs.  They ended up only removing 4ft of ceiling as Eric said it wasn't necessary. We emailed Rick (always better to document requests, work done, change in scope) to ask for a revised estimate and after some awkward negotiation, he did. They gave us the option to come back to take out the additional 4ft or provide a discount for the additional painting to the walk-in closet, secured exterior soffit which we chose.

They would have received A for quality had they not had to come back to re-do part of the ceiling.  The seam where the new drywall met the old one was visible after they completed the job (& cleared out) the first time. Initially we thought it was the paint but the painters (a different crew) said another coat of paint would not fix it. They ended up putting on another layer of mud, paint and that fixed it. This second crew did lay down plastic sheeting too but it did not fully cover the stairs, living area to the extent the first team did. Also we twice asked they not use the master bath but they did anyway, leaving a bit of a mess with mud residue, even after their clean-up. This 2-man crew worked on their own and their job was not supervised nor inspected by either Rick nor Eric."
