"Marconi and his team were excellent. They did a superb job with the installation of new hardwood flooring on our first floor: livingroom, dining room, family room, office and foyer. They were punctual, professional, reasonably priced and they completed the work on time. They were detail-oriented and the work they performed was noteworthy. Bottom line: I will definitely use Marconi again for other projects I have."

"JC Closets was quick to respond on my initial contact.  Javier came by to look at my closets, took measurements and asked for clarity on what I wanted.  He sent drawings and an estimate by email within a couple of days.  His quote was competitive and his reviews were favorable.  My husband and I are extremely satisified with the work which was completed on the agreed upon date.  The project was handled efficiently and professionally.

"We are extremely happy with our kitchen. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. Kevin and Erika made some great suggestions for our design that no other designer presented to us. I was a bit skeptical at first but clearly they know what they are talking about as now I can't imagine the kitchen being any other way. Everything from the flooring to the installation of the appliances was done with great precision and great care. There was practically nothing that we needed to have them follow-up on since everything was done right the first time. Kevin was great to work with. He always kept me up to speed on anything that needed attention and was willing to work with us to make sure our kitchen was exactly how we wanted it. The whole team seems to take a lot of pride in their work and it shows in the finished product. We really appreciated how clean they kept everything and took extra measures to keep dust and debris out of the rest of the house. These little details make a huge difference in the end. Now everyone who comes over raves about our kitchen. It's just perfect!"

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"I had several pieces of furniture that needed to be moved from Capitol
hill to Ft Washington, MD.  Their estimate was far better than other
companies as they do not charge for travel time.  The window of time for
the move was 1-3pm.  The movers promptly showed up and got to Ft
Washington by 1:45pm and the whole thing was done by 2:10pm.  All the
pieces came in undamaged.   People were very professional and I would
recommend to anyone

Closets questions, answered by experts

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.

Yes, books are typically heavier than clothes, unless you have a collection exclusively of paperbacks or comic books. That’s why packing lots of books warrants careful planning and consideration. Consider packing up your reading collection first to determine whether you need to downsize it before loading it into your moving truck.

When you are securing your DIY home office built-ins to the wall, you should start by locating the wall studs. You'll then want to use long screws to attach the cabinets, shelves, and bookcases directly to the wall studs. Your built-ins will be far too heavy to attach to the drywall alone by using anchors.

Clean regularly, avoid overloading shelves, and check hardware for wear to ensure longevity.

How many days it takes to remodel a closet will also depend on the scale of the project. Small changes like installing a prefab kit will eat up an afternoon and no more, while a total renovation could require several days to a week. If you’re planning for the latter, plan to secure other sleeping arrangements while construction is ongoing.
