"My salesman was very knowledgeable and informative of the HVAC system being replaced. The installers, Kyle and Keshawn, were wonderful. Never had a better group of people. They were very thorough and went above and beyond what was expected. Great service all the way from ARS."

"Rob was the service technician who came by for check up on our Trane AC Unit. He was professional and courteous. He took time to explain and label damper settings for future reference. He was the best HVAC technician I have ever encountered thus far. Rob is definitely an asset to McCrea company. If I ever need service again, I want Rob to be the one to service my AC Unit. Thank you!"

"The entire Aire Serv Team in Front Royal, starting with Aaron and Brandon, were excellent, courteous, very knowledgeable and provided very good value. Not only did they know their products very well, the quality of their installation is outstanding. They also took the time to make sure I fully understood how all worked. To any homeowner I would recommend them for any HVAC project that you are contemplating or for addressing any problems that you may encounter."

"I was selling my house and the inspector found the fan was venting into the attic.  I needed to have a professional  vent it to the outside..  The HVAC tech  was on time, diagnosed the problem  immediately and had it vented to the outside soffit in a less than half an hour.  it looks good, not noticeable and now I meet code. I thought the price was a bit high. I have a one story ranch and all he had to do was cut a hole in the soffit, reach in and pull down the vent. Other than that  he did a wonderful job and I am happy.

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

Winterizing can still help you save money on energy costs and help prepare your AC for its work next year when you turn it back on. We suggest planning for at least some maintenance, even if winters are mild in your area.

A dirty air conditioning coil can cause your unit to work overtime, leading to reduced efficiency, higher energy use, more wear and tear, and possible ice buildup. If the coils corrode, refrigerant can leak, causing damage, possible mold growth, and an expensive repair bill. By cleaning your AC coils once a year, you’ll have a more efficient unit that’s likely to last longer.

You should only run your dehumidifier in warmer months, such as spring and summer, to get the best performance out of your system. The air gets drier when temperatures drop in the winter months, creating less of a need for a dehumidifier. However, when to run a dehumidifier will depend on your local climate.

Yes. Your air supply should be balanced. The return and supply ducts need to maintain that balance, and this only occurs because an equal amount of air should be entering and leaving your HVAC system. Changes in pressure, extreme weather, and blocking vents with furniture or your stuff can make the air supply unbalanced and cause your home to get too cold or hot.
