"Ancelmo was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable regarding the work requested. I was a class A contractor and have performed many tile installations myself. My project involved removing ceramic tile and replacing it with large format porcelain tile throughout the kitchen, hall, powder room, mudroom and foyer. He immediately identified several issues such as the need to cut columns, wood nosing with railing at step down and raise the baseboard due to a thicker installation. I supplied the tile and grout which he picked up from the supplier and he provided the durarock, thickset, baseboard and shoe molding. He accommodated our schedule and the project is beautiful. I solicited 5 bids and his price was in the middle and fair. He's not the cheapest but the work is spot on and for a 500+ square foot project with expensive tile I am very happy that I selected Ancelmo. He's a good trim carpenter as well."
"Craig Newton (Mr. Craig) was my installer. He was punctual every morning when he arrived and cleaned up before he left. He explained the install to me and kept me informed throughout the whole install. I absolutely love my kitchen. Thanks again Mr. Craig."
"Pyramid was recommended to us by a friend who has done a lot of remodeling and has priced granite in many locations in the area. She was right--after shopping around for a granite or quartz countertop for our guest bathroom remodel, Pyramid Granite had the best selection AND best price. We were looking for something that would coordinate with existing tile in the bathroom and it was easy to find several choices at Pyramid. They were very professional, helped us make a decision, came out to measure and delivered the product ON TIME. We ultimately settled on granite and our countertop is gorgeous--we will definitely be coming back when we remodel our primary bathroom! Ask for Temon--he is great!"
"We were referred by a friend to hire Jaber Construction LLC for kitchen ceramic backsplash installation. We are very satisfied with their exceptional and high-quality work. Nick, the owner, is responsive, always answers our questions to the point, and provides excellent customer services. His crews perform with professionalism and are exceptionally detailed in the finished product. The result is a very pleasing, new kitchen look with fantastic designs. They truly exceed our expectations for this first project. We will hire them for additional work in the future."
"Bledar and his team far surpassed all expectations. The attention to detail and quality of work were exceptional --- they went above and beyond in painting the exterior of my house and installing exterior lighting. They use high quality materials, and were responsive, professional, friendly and honest. I highly recommend them!"
"Looney’s Tile and Grout did an outstanding job in removing my outdated white subway tile kitchen backsplash and installed a beautiful mosaic and travertine backsplash! It looks incredible! I am very pleased! Frank and Giovanni were very professional and polite, on time, and very good in communicating the time they would be arriving. I highly recommend and would use them again for future tiling projects in my home. Thank you Frank and Giovanni!!"
"We used Samâ s Home Improvement to create our backsplash. He had a good price, and we were very impressed with his subcontractor, Luis Quispe, who actually did the tile work. He understood our plans, gave some suggestions, and was flexible with changes. The end result is fabulous."
"Had a wonderful experience choosing TR Granite to replace counter-tops and install a new back-splash. They were very competitive and were responsive to all questions and requests. There was an issue with the sink and once a call was made it was quickly resolved with no hesitation. That speaks for great customer service! They had a great team of workers that coordinated their schedules so the project moved smoothly, from demolition, to granite placement , plumbing then tile work. The tile workmen found a faulty electrical connection behind the drywall they were removing . They helped to get in an electrician the same day to keep the project moving. This was a great help as it solved a safety issue as well. Kudos for a job well done. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you!!"
"Oral was very responsive to our questions and able to schedule us quickly to replace the drywall in our powder room and install a new door/door frame. The job only took two days and his team was very thorough. For a competitive estimate and quick turnaround, I would definitely reach out to them!"
"Zeke and Jordan did an excellent job removing our old tub with tile surround, and installing a new shower with acrylic wall panels and sliding doors. They were courteous, efficient, and professional during the entire installation process. Very happy with the end result! I would definitely recommend West Shore Home to my friends and neighbors."

A quality shower tiling project is a bathroom upgrade that can increase resale value. Bathroom remodels have the highest return on investments for any home update. Tiling a shower won’t offer the potential 70% ROI that a full bathroom remodel involving upgrading fixtures, installing storage, and a complete room retile will. However, you can expect an average return of 55% to 60% for this refresh.
The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.
Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.
The lifespan of bathroom tile can be 50 years or more, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. A well-done tile job, whether it's a new installation or a retiling project, can last for many decades. To lengthen the life of your tile, it's best to have it installed by a professional and to perform regular maintenance. This includes routine cleaning, resealing, and regrouting as needed. With proper care, you can expect your tile to last 10 years or more before needing major repairs or retiling, especially in high-traffic areas where tiles can wear out more quickly.
There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.
