"This is a very disappointing review. The homeowner said he was going to pull the permits for the work in his house. After a couple of days of trying to get the permits he became frustrated and asked me to pull permits for the work. I had requested that he email me his plans that he had already prepared. Three business days after requesting me to pull the permits, he published this review. I believe there was a misunderstanding at the permit office. He was never asked to take all the liability from me and I did not refuse to do the work. I could not apply for the permits without his plans. A contractor cannot waive their liability however the County does not want any liability coming back on them. I wish he had called me to discuss rather than publishing a negative review and I could have cleared up any confusion."
"Unfortunately, Angie's List does not allow contractors to post the photos of the work. The contract with the customer was to re-tile her shower which was done. Later, the customer asked if we could look at the basement walls and ceiling which had mold from the upstairs patio doors leaking and the basement patio doors had rusted and were leaking. We cut out the damaged drywall in the basement ceiling and upper half of the wall and did the touch up painting at no cost to the customer. We also caulked around the upstairs doorway and removed the stairs and sealed around the house and deck to prevent further damage and again at no cost. I showed the tenant what work had been done and the issues. It was recommended to have both sets of doors replaced as they could not be repaired. It was also recommended to have the basement carpet replaced. The owner asked me to come back out to the house to look at the wall. I came back out with one of my employees and we cut away the drywall on the lower half of the basement wall near the patio doors. The area was wet and had black mold on the wall, studs, and insulation. I told her she needed to call a mold remediator and she told me to put the drywall back and install new baseboard and new door casings. I refused to do that as it was a health and safety issue. I was not going to cover up the problem so she could save money. We showed the tenant the issue and that we were not going to fix it. I left the baseboard and casing at the house to be installed by the mold remediator once he was finished with the work. The amount of baseboard to be replaced was 12" and casing was 12". The customer continued to call, text, and email me threats on a regular basis. I am happy to share photos of the mold."
"As a contractor, we strive to make every customer happy and to do a quality job on every job. We typically do not respond to reviews but sometimes you do have to stand up for the work that was completed and tell the other side of the story. The flooring had to be removed the first time because the homeowner said they did not like the flooring color that they chose. We removed the flooring at no additional charge. The homeowner ordered new flooring that was delivered the next day and we came back to install the following day. The flooring they ordered did not require an underlayment and in fact voided the manufacturer's warranty if it was installed with an additional underlayment.. The flooring was purchased from Floor & Decor. We called the store and they confirmed the information that the flooring was not supposed to be installed with an underlayment and Voided the warranty. We informed the homeowner who also called the store and was given the same information. The homeowner decided they still wanted the underlayment and we uninstalled the flooring again, installed underlayment, and re-installed the flooring again at no additional charge. So we uninstalled and installed different flooring 3 times at no additional charge. The drywall was not removed and replaced as it showed no signs of moisture or damage and there was no need to cause damage to the wall, baseboard, and shoe molding. Instead of reducing the fee, I told them we would call it even with the removal of the flooring that we did not charge for. We also repainted the customers baseboards and shoe moldings which were not on the estimate and we did not charge any additional money for it. I believe at the end of the day, we went above and beyond for the customer to make sure that they were happy and had a quality flooring installed. We have the before and after photos of the job along with all of the email communications from the customer. Unfortunately we cannot upload the finished photos here."
"All phone calls and requests for estimates are responded to within 24 hours. There may have been some incorrect contact information that came through and the customer was unable to be reached."
