"Who writes reviews before the work is done? I do, because of REO ServicePro owner Gary Golman's responsiveness. I needed all the smoke detectors in my home replaced because they were 15-years old and I just learned they should have been replaced after 10 years. I already bought replacements and just needed them installed because once I got into the job, no amount of YouTube tutorials could help me through. I called Gary, but when I sounded confused discussing the job with him, he offered to stop by to check out the task. Turns out I purchased the wrong detectors. I was still clueless, so Gary offered to go to Home Depot with me (this was at the end of the day mind you) to help me get the right ones. Gary will come by tomorrow afternoon to replace all the units. I'm confident the job will be done right - which wouldn't have happened if I had continued on the path to do them myself. It'll be one less household task to worry about. After tomorrow I'll be able to sleep through the night without my smoke detectors chirping for me to change them out. Thanks Angie's List for recommending REO-ServicePro. "
"The response time was excellent. Daniel did our estimate and was prompt and efficient. The first crew that was to come out at 2PM was 1 hour late and I called and he told me he was still painting somewhere. He came at 4:30 and took a look at the cabinets to be installed and said it was too much work and would cost more than the estimate and he didn't have the time that day. We called the office and talked with Daniel who was very apologetic and a new crew came out the following morning and installed the replacement cabinets. This required putting the cabinets together also. They did an excellent job. They were courteous, professional and responsive to our concerns and had the job done in about 3 hours (there were 4 cabinets). They cleaned everything up including the mirrors on the cabinets and hauled all the trash away including the old cabinets. Were it not for our experience with the first crew I would give them 5 stars."
"We were delighted with the outcome of the installation of a new surround on our fireplace. This was a re-do of an initial installation by another contractor that did not work out too well! I was nervous about getting this done right and Kevin put me at ease immediately. He was precise, highly skilled, and very aware that we were not happy with the first installation. It turned out beautifully."
"Mr. Green and his team did an excellent job with a total remodeling of our bathroom, he had some wonderful ideas about installing recessed lighting and niches in the new shower, we couldn't be happier. He finished on time and within the quoted price. Great job!!!"
"Hired them to repair our vinyl fence, install a security lock and reinforce an outdoor gate. They arrived on time and were courteous, attentive to our needs and reasonably priced."
"Beautiful! Mike has redone my bathrooms, kitchen, painted nearly every room in my house, painted my siding and doors, installed new shutters, laid carpet, installed hardwood doors, power washed the house, worked on my roof, changed toilets...you name it, he’s done it! Mike does great work!"
"The installation was seamless. Mark was prompt in responding, on time, and installed the microwave quickly and cleanly. It was problem-free. I plan to hire him again."
"I couldn’t be happier with their work! I had a great experience with this home installation company from start to finish. The quality of their work was excellent, the team was professional and knowledgeable, and the customer service was outstanding. They took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was done right. On top of that, their pricing was very fair and transparent. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and high quality home installation services."
"Cristian was excellent! He arrived even a bit early and masterfully tackled the assembly and installation of my daughter’s new complicated wooden outdoor playset. He was polite and very professional. We plan on hiring him again for more projects!"
Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts
You should have either an ABC or K-rated fire extinguisher in the kitchen. ABC fire extinguishers put out wood, trash, paper, plastic, and textile fires along with grease, oil, gas, kerosene, and electrical fires. A class K fire extinguisher is specifically rated for use in the kitchen and is designed to extinguish combustible cooking materials, including grease and fat.
Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.
There are several maintenance tips you should take to ensure your pellet stove's safety and proper maintenance. You should vacuum the ash pan every week to prevent overflowing and clean the stove and surrounding vents every three to four months. It’s also important to get a professional inspection every year and install a carbon monoxide detector close to your stove. Be sure to dispose of hot ashes in a closed metal container; store it outside, away from the house. Only use the pellets recommended by your stove's manufacturer, and follow any cleaning and maintenance instructions.
Yes, you need to leave your chimney damper open when burning a creosote log so that smoke and other debris doesn’t waft into your house as it’s burning. You’ll need to make sure your damper is fully open, even when the log continues to smoke, until it’s completely out and cold.
Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.
