Customers say: Quick response

"I had a shower pan leak and Ancelmo was able to come in and rebuild/re-tile my entire shower in four days. I can only review the beauty of his work on the outside and unable to review the installation of the new shower pan with proper water sealing. I can only have faith and hope the leak does not rear its ugly head. The entire job was executed without much disturbance and mess. The cost relative to the work performed and the time it took was exceptional! I would recommend Ancelmo to any future customer, and would hire again myself!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for C&M Contractors I had a fantastic experience with C&M Contractors! After reaching out to them, they responded quickly and managed to schedule and complete my kitchen backsplash installation within just 48 hours. I was genuinely impressed by how efficient and professional they were from start to finish. The quality of their work is top-notch—the backsplash looks amazing and completely transformed my kitchen. On top of that, the pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the fast turnaround and great craftsmanship. If you’re looking for reliable, prompt, and skilled contractors, I highly recommend C&M Contractors. I’ll definitely be calling them again for future projects!"

"The price was completely out of our budget -- despite what we stated we were able to pay. Additionally, we received 3 other estimates that were 40% cheaper that what Empire could offer AND included materials to cover our problematic stairs -- which Empire suggested staining to match the laminate."

"They did a great job of repairing my tub which had some cracks in it from the installation. Was much cheaper to have it refinished than replaced as the cost of redoing the tile work was prohibitive. Caleb, the manager , was quick to respond and provided a very reasonable quote for the service. Brian , the technician, called to tell me when he would arrive. He arrived on time and did the work which turned out great. He cleaned up after the job was done and even came back in the afternoon to re-caulk around the tub. Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend Specialized Refinishing to anyone need a repair for a damaged tub."

"The tile in the bathroom looks great... so far. Jose also replaced a kitchen sink faucet and connections. Because he was also handling the plumbing connections in the bathroom, this seemed like something that should be in his wheelhouse. Well, 3 months later the kitchen sink had a serious leak and I had to have everything don again, and he charged $300 to unhook the faucet and reinstall in and two hoses. I could have done this myself, but was not nearby to do so. I thought he had done a good job, but since such a simple repair was a total failure, now I have to wonder what other surprises might pop up in the quality of his work, which cost about $7k in labor alone. Not feeling confident at this moment."

"I was very pleased with the work and how the job turned out. I went to different places looking for the exact color scheme I wanted to match my cabinets. When measuring my kitchen the owner said he had the exact piece for me. I trusted his judgement ( tho I was nervous). The countertops were just right! After being in my house for over a year I am happier now than ever with my purchase. The guys that installed them were nice also."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, tiling a bathroom involves about 12 hours of labor, usually spread over two to three days to accommodate prep work and curing times. A professional tiler can often complete the installation in 6 to 8 hours, whereas a DIYer might take 10 to 16 hours. The total project time is influenced by factors like the bathroom layout, tile type, and necessary prep work, such as removing old tile. The process includes specific timelines for different areas; for example, tiling a floor takes about six hours, while a shower area can take six to ten hours. It is essential to allow for adequate curing time—typically 24 hours each—for the mortar, grout, and caulk, which is why the project extends over several days.

No, painting shower tile doesn’t last and is better reserved as a temporary solution to refreshing the look of old tiles. Shower tile paint may last around one to five years, depending on how well you prep the surface before painting, the type of paint you use, the type of tile in your shower, and how often you use the shower.

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.
