When Carlos arrived to do the work, he went right to it. He worked quickly and kept me informed about what he was finding and how it was going. When he was done with that, he put in humidifiers at first. The next day, he came with help to apply the mold-prevention treatment before adding fans to aid in drying. He checked in daily either in person or by text until it was time to remove them, at which point he came and did so. I was very happy to work with Carlos and Water Damage DMV. "Horrible experience. Movers broke our marble dresser and the owner refused to take responsibility. The movers explained to us they put the dresser on its side and it was their negligence and still company took no responsibility. Instead we were told they waived $200 off the move which isn't even close to the value. Then they left the dresser in the garage instead of bringing it upstairs because the movers said James would be sending someone to repair the dresser. On top of that they took 5.5 hours to move everything due to only sending 2 movers. Seek business elsewhere."

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

Garbage disposals fit the drains of nearly every sink out there due to universal drain hole sizes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, but the same isn’t true for the housing underneath the sink. You need plenty of room to fit a garbage disposal under there, so measure the space ahead of time and use those dimensions when shopping for a new model.
