"I hired Monkey Wrench for a few jobs in my new townhome. I had them install a pressure release valve, install a new pipe for my dryer, service my furnace, replace two toilets, and fix a leak on my outdoor hose spigot. They explained the work clearly and made sure I understood my options. They were communicative with scheduling and fit in the critical jobs that affected my neighbors' water when some of the work needed to be rescheduled. Quality and honest work, definitely will book them for my future plumbing needs."

"Needed a new toilet installed. Was scheduled by another Plumbing company. They never showed up. They had many excuses as to their rescheduling but pushed the project back again. I called Neighborly Plumbing and Travis was very professional and friendly. He had us by the new toilet and scheduled the plumber Mathew to install it. Mathew came on the scheduled time, installed the toilet in less than an hour and he was on his way. So professional and very nice. Canâ t wait for something else to replace so I can call them again."

"I spent Sunday morning trying to locate a plumber who could come out to thaw pipes to the  house.  Finally got Beehive/Quick Response Plumbing.  They had someone here within the hour.  Scott worked  diligently to thaw the pipes, going out of his way to make sure it was we understood what he was doing.  (He was using an electric thawing device).  He had to leave to take another job but came back and saw that pipes where cleared.

"Paul, the owner of the company, met with me a couple of times to discuss the options I had. My 90-year-old sewer line was replaced by "bursting." His subcontractors were all friendly and excellent workers. I would happily recommend Salt City to anyone needing sewer repair."

"Upfront Plumbing was a great decision. Took care of my main sewer line issue, involved major excavation and they had it done in three days. Also installed a great water softener that we already love as well as a tankless water heater. Very fair prices and amazing technicians. Highly recommended."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

First, check that you have cut off the water supply to your toilet. This is a project that can only be done safely if running water cannot reach your toilet fixture. If you're seeing water trickle out after you've confirmed that the water supply is shut off, you can probably rest assured that what you're seeing isn't a problem. It's common for leftover water to spill out when you're removing your toilet's fill valve. If something goes wrong while you're working on your toilet, you'll need to look at your home's policy to see if your homeowner insurance covers water damage.

Yes, flushing a clogged toilet can make it overflow. While flushing the toilet may push enough pressure through the system to dislodge the clog, this is unlikely. Your best bet is to use a plunger and hope the suction can break up whatever is blocking the pipe. If this doesn’t work, use a plumbing auger or call a pro to help.

Whether or not a power-flush toilet is worth it depends on your toilet needs and your budget. If your bathroom sees a lot of use or you’re concerned about the toilet clogging, then a power-flush toilet may be the right choice. You should also check the pressure requirements to make sure your system can handle the necessary requirements.

Some of the problems with in-wall toilets include the complex installation, which might need extra framing. It is also more difficult to access the toilet tank for maintenance or troubleshooting because it’s behind the flush button panel and in the wall. Over time, you’ll spend more on maintenance because you’ll need a plumber to work on hidden plumbing.
