"I interviewed five people that were recommended to me by the county inspector. Jayson Dean was the most honest , knowledgeable & enthusiasts among the contractors I interviewed. His bid was also very competitive. He was easy to talk to work with and get a hold of. I never had to play cat and mouse or phone tag he was straightforward a solid upstanding young man with a great set of values. He did an excellent job quickly and thoroughly. No hangups or delays with any of the inspections and no interruptions in service to my guests at my RV park. Therefore I had no shut down or loss of income. Jayson Dean is a fantastic contractor I would recommend him very highly to anyone needing a septic system of any size."

"We met Bob shortly after moving to Texas when we had busted pipes. His courtesy and professionalism during a time when he could have easily taken advantage of a bad situation, showed that he cares about building a long-term relationship with his customers. We have continued to utilize him for all of our plumbing needs. The reason - he tells you what you need, why you need it and then fixes it correctly the first time. He also pays attention to the little details, like making sure that the caulk around the shower handles is installed neatly. You cannot go wrong with him. I highly recommend."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

A mound septic system, when properly maintained, can last between 20 and 25 years on average—though some last longer or malfunction sooner than that. The most important part of maintenance is getting an annual inspection of the vital parts of the system to ensure they’re in proper working order and not too backed up with sewage.

The ideal depth of a septic drain field is 18 to 36 inches below the surface. The trenches must be deep enough to allow proper wastewater distribution and filtration while remaining shallow enough for oxygen to reach the soil, promoting bacterial activity that helps break down contaminants. In areas with high groundwater or poor drainage, shallower systems like mound drain fields may be required.

Septic tanks and cesspits are both types of sewage and wastewater systems, but they differ in key ways. The main difference between the two systems is that septic tanks separate sewage from wastewater and allow the latter to flow into a drainage field to filter and disperse into the soil. Cesspits don’t have outlets and instead, store sewage until it needs to be pumped by a professional.

Normally, when your well pump turns on or off, you’ll hear a small click. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it can be a problem if it’s clicking continuously. This can indicate that the well pump is short cycling—the pump continuously turns on and off.

This can wear out the motor and provide uneven water flow. If this happens, you may need to get it looked at by a well pump professional to see if you need to repair the switch or pump.

Yes, it is generally okay to oversize a well pressure tank, and it will not harm your well system. The primary advantage is that a larger tank reduces frequent pump cycling, leading to longer, slower cycles with fewer startups. This can result in less wear and tear, potentially increasing the lifespan of the pump and conserving energy. However, there are drawbacks to consider. Oversized tanks have a higher upfront cost and require more physical space. While not necessarily a bad thing, opting for a tank that is appropriately sized for your well is often the most efficient choice in terms of cost and space.
