"Custom Painting does quality work. They patched about 15 holes in our walls after a repiping. They also cleaned and painted the ceiling in our den. We were very pleased with their work. I would recommend them to everyone."

"We found Luxz, highly rated, on Angi’s list. The team visited multiple times to ensure their bids were accurate and met the goals of our project needs (stucco repair and exterior house painting). Throughout the project Eddie, Angel, and team were super responsive and open to feedback. They were eager to ensure the work met our expectations. They are straightforward and tell you exactly what they would do if it if it was them in their personal situation, which is so appreciated in this field very often it is difficult to have the level of knowledge and expertise for the situation. You are made to feel like a valued client throughout the process and treated like a real individual regardless of the size of the project. They are definitely a company that we would go back to again and again because they can handle many different situations and jobs."

"Carnival Painting did a great job painting my home. The paint coating was thick and just beautiful. The neighbors were commenting on how great of a job they did also. The person leading the work crew was really great in explaining everything to me and helping talk through the decisions I had to make. He really went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the job. The whole crew was really nice and intent on getting the job done. I highly recommend them."

"It went horrible because the entire guest room downstairs is not finished. The owner basically left it undone on a technicality, sort of, we discussed schematics even before the start of work which I paid $720 for. We both agreed the $720 would take care of all of downstairs and the stars hall. He basically said that his guys would be done at 8:45 PM but I paid for the whole day. They showed up early at 7:00AM but did not put a drop of paint until 11:00 AM. The work was great but he basically took my money and did not complete what I had paid for and tried to use my connections to further his business. I told my girlfriend not use this company and not to let them do or handle your families homes or friends. The owner also bragged about doing an 8,000sq home and earning $40,000 for it; which could the reason for his behavior."

"Had whole interior of home painted prior to moving in. Brian, the owner, was very courteous and prompt. Took 3 days and cleaned up at the end of each day. Would definitely recommend and hire again. Thanks Brian!"

"Great quality and decent price. A bit higher than I wanted to pay, but for great craftsmanship, it is worth it! Their painting quality is flawless and they are respectful in clean up after the job is done too. Ended up repainting all the interior walls and the place look brand new. They also repaired my drywall water damage in a few places, great seamless job. I like how it’s a family run business and not a big corporate company. The owner himself came back to complete a few small actions items, which was nice of them to give up his weekend time to complete the job right! Highly recommend!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

A natural paint remover for metal is a solution of 16 parts water and one part baking soda or vinegar. When heated on your stovetop, these non-toxic household items combine into a highly effective solution that can be used to remove paint from small metal objects with tricky nooks and crannies.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

This factor depends on exactly how much paint you remove from your hardwood floors. If it’s just a few small, hardly noticeable spots, refinishing won’t be necessary. However, if you completely strip your floors of paint, you will likely need to sand and finish them.

To remove paint from brick with vinegar, you can use the vinegar in much the same way you would paint stripper. However, vinegar needs significantly more time to soak into the paint. Apply the vinegar with a spray bottle, let it soak in, then scrub the paint's surface.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.
