"Very professional. Came and gave a quote that was lower than the other quotes I received. Came on a Saturday and was finished with the job in 3 hours. They trimmed 2 trees pruned 2 trees cut 1 tree down and ground the stump. Ground roots from 1 tree pruned 2 trees and cleaned up and hauled trash. I would definitely recommend them for your tree service. Great job guys"

"One of our palm tree was snapped in half possibly by the strong gust yesterday. Overall, Fantastic jobs were done, although the grinder vehicle can not fit in the backyard door to grind the stump off, the company is able to gave me a further discount. Definitely recommend them for a fast, reliable and affordable service"

"I called them to cut down a dead tree and clear a backyard that was beyond taken over by weeds and small trees most of which was over 6 feet tall. The amount of work was overwhelming and they did all of it quickly and very professionally. It looked excellent after they got in there and chopped it all down. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a similar service. 10/10"

"Called them to get a quote for trimming a couple of trees. They were the only ones that actually returned my call. We ended up selling the house but will use them in the future."

"I like to commend OM Tree Services for their efficiency and Quality of work, they are very professional and well organized and quick. Noticed some cut others pick up the branches and put them away right away, when they are done they use the fork to pick any small branch or leaves on the ground. The are very reasonable in the price while other quotes may he higher . I am very pleased with their clean, quality and value."

"Please see the other 5 star review I left with details of our project - had to come back and shout out the crew! Armando was our tree arborist (AMAZING WORK!!! So kind!!) and his partner was Ana. These guys were working in the Houston humidity, 90+ degree weather for over 7 hours! They both did incredible, so skilled, and professional. It was really cool to watch the whole process unfold and see how big of a difference taking care of your trees makes a home look so much better! God Bless!!"

"Xavier and his crew showed up on time and worked for a full day on my property. They did an excellent job of pruning and shaping the trees and cut down and ground the stumps of two other trees. They transformed my front and back yard and it looks so much better than it did. They also cleaned up my yard and hauled all of the material away. I am very please with this tree service and would recommend them to anyone."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hire professionals to move a tree. Arborists and tree transplanting companies specialize in this type of work and use equipment like hydraulic tree spades to safely extract and relocate trees with their root balls intact. Since tree moving is a complex process, especially for larger trees, it’s best left to experts who understand how to protect the tree’s health and ensure the safety of everyone involved.

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.
