"I CANNOT say enough good things about Tecton. Aaron Utter and his team were incredibly patient and catered to every ask on this project, bringing our dream patio to life. He pays attention to every detail and ensures it's done accurately, even if that meant doing the masonry himself folks. We don't like our new living space... we love it. I highly recommend Aaron as a Mason, an honest contractor, and as an all-around good human. Instead of putting extra money in his pockets, he makes recommendations for you per YOUR budget, not his. 10/10 and more than 5 stars are deserved. Dreaming up another project in 3, 2, 1..."

"I have not used the company, YET. I plan to though! Chris, the inspector who checked out my foundation was a peach. He arrived on time, even though I, myself was late! He was polite, friendly and professional. He squeezed himself into my tiny crawlspace and took amazing and accurate photos of the foundation. He showed me the pics and told me exactly what was going on, how to repair it in detail and what to expect. I had Cornerstone come out several weeks before I called Pinnacle and they gave me a totally different story that would have cost me a LOT more money! I will definitely be calling Pinnacle later this year to take care of my foundation issue."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

In Irving, schedule immediate repairs if you find cracks wider than 1/4 inch, loose bricks on walkways, or signs of water entering your home. These pose safety and structural risks. Minor mortar gaps or cosmetic brick repair can wait for milder weather, ideally spring or fall, since TX’s extreme summer heat or winter cold can affect mortar curing and overall repair quality.

Helpful?

In Irving, masonry issues like cracks near plumbing lines or electrical conduits may signal foundation shifts that threaten utility systems. Damaged brickwork can allow water infiltration, impacting waterproofing and drainage systems. If you notice uneven floors or sticking doors alongside masonry damage, your home’s structure and energy efficiency could be compromised, making it essential to consult a masonry contractor for a thorough assessment.

Helpful?

For masonry projects in Irving, always plan work during cooler parts of the day to avoid heat-related risks. Confirm the location of underground utilities before digging, and use proper supports on clay soil to prevent shifting. Protect nearby drainage systems from debris, and comply with local noise and work hour guidelines. These steps help ensure your brick repair project is both safe and up to code.

Helpful?

In Irving, watch for stair-step cracks in brickwork, bulging or leaning walls, and crumbling mortar joints—especially after heavy rain or drought. Efflorescence, or white powdery stains, often signals moisture intrusion. Loose or shifting bricks near windows or doors can indicate foundation movement. Addressing these early helps prevent major brick repair, water damage, and costly structural issues common in Irving’s shifting clay soil.

Helpful?

After masonry work in Irving, keep new mortar shaded and moist for proper curing, especially during hot spells. Check that water drains away from repaired areas to prevent moisture buildup. Inspect for settling, new cracks, or efflorescence over the next few weeks. Schedule seasonal inspections to catch freeze-thaw or heat-related damage, and consider annual professional checkups to maintain brickwork integrity in Irving’s challenging climate.
