Aaron and his team are very careful and cover everything from day to day communication, quality of work, knowledge of customer needs down to amazing cleanup. H*** he even had a portable bathroom delivered for his crew. He also takes care of any issues head on and takes ownership over that. I will be recommending his business to everyone I know. Nice work crew. One last thing is Aaron also works long hours and gets down in the trenches with his crew. Even his daughter came out and worked long hard hours in this 100 degree heat.

Aaron exceeded all expectations. This is the 3rd job we have hired him for, and he continues to impress with his creativity, skill, and artistry. So fortunate to have found him and will always use him for any masonry and stonework.

We wanted a 10' x 20' patio installed but were not sure what materials to use. The area needed leveling and there was a slope to contend with. Aaron gave pros & cons of using pavers/crushed granite vs flagstone/mortar; no hard sell for either one. He explained we would need a small retaining wall on one side of patio to deal with sloping yard. We went with flagstone/mortar as it would match existing retaining wall and steps. Aaron provided an itemized proposal and placed us on his schedule. Communication was excellent throughout the process. Once started, they were finished in a week. Clean-up was outstanding. The workmanship is second to none. Patio is perfectly level, drainage is exceptional, and the flagstone is beautifully placed. We are so fortunate to have found Tecton Stoneworks on Angi. Highly recommend this company!

I CANNOT say enough good things about Tecton. Aaron Utter and his team were incredibly patient and catered to every ask on this project, bringing our dream patio to life. He pays attention to every detail and ensures it's done accurately, even if that meant doing the masonry himself folks. We don't like our new living space... we love it. I highly recommend Aaron as a Mason, an honest contractor, and as an all-around good human. Instead of putting extra money in his pockets, he makes recommendations for you per YOUR budget, not his. 10/10 and more than 5 stars are deserved. Dreaming up another project in 3, 2, 1...

Aaron and his crew did a great job for our neighborhood park. They responded promptly to my request for a quote, provided a fair estimate, and patiently waited for the homeowners association wheels to turn. When we were ready, Aaron did a great job of matching our aging stones so that the repairs are virtually indistinguishable from their surroundings. They completely replaced our little footbridge with a sturdy and beautiful new one. I recommend their work wholeheartedly.

the guy did not call, did everything via text. Said they wanted to give an exact quoted but quoted a price of "$7500 or more: (based on a picture). I would have respected the company more if they had just said they were not interested in the job. It's very frustrating how people seem to do business these days - very hands off and want's to depend on texting.

If you need any stonework done (retaining wall, outdoor living areas, anything along those lines), I would highly recommend Tecton Stoneworks. In fact, I can't recommend them enough, as they did a great job for us. I hired them to replace a retaining wall along a drainage easement on the property and the work they did was exceptional. They demolished the old retaining wall (railroad ties from the 1990s), laid a footer, and put in the new wall with no problems at all. We decided to go with the less expensive option of using blocks for the retaining wall instead of utilizing the more decorative stone that would typically be used because this retaining wall is facing a drainage easement and curls around to a drainage ditch. They put capstones on the top of the wall, mortared everything in place, and added a lot of drainage which has already reduced the amount of standing water our yard retains after rain. Additionally, they put the fence posts inside the retaining wall which makes yard maintenance easier in years to come. And, above all, it looks good. Beyond just the quality of the work, Aaron was honest and upfront about the process. He was polite, respectful, explained anything I needed clarification on, and generally was a pleasure to work with. I am very glad that I hired them for this project.

Aaron and his crew were totally professional. They kept the mess to a minimum, watched out for our dogs and best of all, they did a completely awesome job with our outdoor fireplace. It looks great and I cannot wait to light up a fire. I highly recommend.

This was a fairly big job by my standards; replace a double-door lentil (8' wide), restore badly cracked brick above it, and repair a crumbling 2nd story sill. Aaron was able to quote via email with photos and measurements I sent, and his crew performed the work in one day. Quote was fair, work looks great, they cleaned up the site properly and the guys were efficient and friendly with no surprises. 100% will use again.

It went very well! They built a stone fire pit set in a decomposed granite sitting area, stone edging and flagstone walkways in the back yard. We liked it so much we expanded the project to a small flagstone sitting area in front shrub bed and stone edging around all of the other shrub beds. The pricing was fair, the work was top notch and on time. We would recommend them.

I cannot say enough nice things about my experience with Aaron Utter and his company. I have renovated multiple houses over the years and dealt with multiple contractors but rarely have I had such a positive experience as I have had with Tecton Stoneworks ! Mr. Utter/Tecton hit all the gold star buttons. They responded to my initial inquiry in a timely manner, they followed up asking if I had any questions about their quote and replied to all my questions Their bid was in line with several others. They showed up on time, did a beautiful job on my new stone mailbox and the one small concern I had was immediately addressed. And they happily accepted my Angie's List coupon! I wish all my interactions with contractors were as easy, pleasant and satisfactory. I highly recommend this company!

It went great! Aaron was prompt and professional in his quotes and response. He followed up with us on starting the job. He and his guys were on time, the job was done well, clean up with beautiful. Never knew they were here.

I don't have enough superlatives to describe the excellent job Tecton Stoneworks did on this difficult and complicated job. Aaron Utter came out himself to do the estimate and was on the job site 3 of the 4 times I dropped by to see the progress. They started work within days of my accepting the bid, did everything they said they would and more. They finished on time and cleaned everything perfectly. I've dealt with many contractors through one new home build and two renovated homes. This was the easiest and most professional crew I've dealt with ever! My one hundred and one year old home is ready for another one hundred years and I have no doubt that the brickwork done by Tecton will stand the test of time.

Aaron was very professional and helpful in selecting the right look for our home. He and his team did a fabulous job and the fireplace came out beautiful!

First of all, Aaron (the owner) is awesome. He was involved in the project all the way. From the bid stage to the project stage and the correction stage (more on that later). It's not the typical set-up where the owner shows up at the start to bid and the end to collect the cash. They first provided a sample of the smear. However, due to it being on a smaller area and having different exposure to the sun as the front of the house, we asked Aaron to come back and do another larger sample on the front, which he happily did. The trick with applying mortar on brick is that the color is dark initially but becomes lighter over a week or so after drying. So, it is a little bit of trial and error. After the crew finished all the work (it took about 4-5 days), we paid Aaron. He assured us at that time that he stands behind all the work and will not disappear on us. Well, after a week had passed, we realized that the color of the house was still too dark and some parts were not uniform and even darker. We reached out to Aaron again and asked him if he could help. Given that we had already paid him a week ago, he could very well have refused to help us. Instead, he came back with the crew and REDID the entire house in the new lighter color. And he did it with a smiling face. That kind of commitment is unheard of and very impressive. The house looks GREAT now. While they were there a second time, we also asked him to make some small repairs on a brick wall which caused the color there to be a little different. Aaron told to me to call him in a week if the color of those spots still looked different after drying for a week. Well, it does look a little different after a week and I told Aaron, and guess what- he is coming back to go over those few spots in the next week or so to match the color. Outstanding work, great guy and great crew, awesome service and very reasonable prices. We will use Aaron for an outdoor kitchen in a few weeks once we get some additional work done in the backyard. HIGHLY recommended.

Aaron and his team started and completed the project on time. They worked through hot August days and were always very professional. We extended a concrete patio and added stone over both the existing and extended patio. We could not be happier and would definitely recommend them (and already have).

I called several companies on Angie's List and received several quotes. Tecton Stoneworks provided the cheapest quote. Several of the other companies would not attempt to repair the current column and tried to get me to replace it at a higher cost. Tecton was able to repair it without issue.

Slow to start but nicely done

The results were great. Aaron had made suggestions for improvement for the longevity of the new patio. I an see how the improvements are going to help and improved the overall look of the patio. They were prompt and finished the job in a very timely manner. They completely cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Aron came for an estimate and was very professional and had great ideas for our space. We can't wait to get our patio pavers extended with Tecton!

I recently wrote the review where I gave him a poor review for his lack of communication on giving me a giving me a bid. He communicated with me after that and we were able to meet. He explained he was having a difficult time getting back with people on bids. He was sincerely apologetic . He did give me a bid, the price was very fair and he had good suggestions on how to repair the patio, so the same problems would not happen again. He is a nice young man trying to grow a business. I have hired to complete my patio andfeel confident I am going to have a great job.
