"FANTASTIC! Started with Heather’s very pleasant personality and service when I called. Sam provided great recommendations and throughly explained every option, his service and follow up is impeccable. He is very professional and respectful. The installation crew was polite, I was really impressed at how well they worked as a team and every person seemed to know their role well. Charlie the owner provided great personal touch, he stopped by to make sure I was fully satisfied. Highly recommended!"

"I had a great experience with Kelly's A/C. They installed blown-in insulation in my home, and the difference was noticeable right away—my house feels more comfortable, and I’m already seeing an improvement in energy efficiency. The team was professional, on time, and kept everything clean throughout the process. They took the time to explain the work and answer all my questions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing insulation or HVAC services!"

"Excellent service from John Moore! This review goes across the board to capture all those involved from the initial call for service to the final step of installation/replacement. We’ve used John Moore Services for several things in the past three months and once again they did not disappoint. Great customer service, pricing, speed and efficiency in installation! "This is our first review of any kind, but we felt strongly about the work of Phil Musial (owner) and Brian Jones and wanted to provide some feedback. We have used TWH&A at both houses we have owned in The Woodlands, but this is the first new system we have needed. When providing the estimate Brian was very detailed in terms of how they do installs, why they do certain things, and what they believe in as it relates to obtaining peak performance from a system. Phil also provided some thoughts on improving the upstairs performance during the summer months, which was not cost prohibitive. I found their ideas practical and the entire process was very collaborative. I did receive four other quotes locally, but only one other company elected to come out to inspect the home. Regarding price, in terms of equipment and project scope, the TWH&A was the most competitive and their approach was certainly the most professional. We also have two other neighbors that had installs from them and their comments were simply “you will not be disappointed”. The day of the install, they arrived 5 minutes early with a team of people ready to work and everyone knowing exactly what they were supposed to be doing. Brian was there for the first hour of so to be sure everything got kicked off correctly and returned both at mid-day and at the end to walk us through the new system and features. Overall the process went very smooth and our attic was cleaner after they left than before they started. We always try and support local Woodlands companies every chance we get. Given this experience plus all of our prior experiences with TWH&A, we wanted to provide this review because they are really nice people, who work extremely hard, and do a great job."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.

If you have a closed-system boiler that requires an expansion tank, you cannot safely operate it without one, as this risks extensive damage or even explosions. You must find a way to make room for the installation. Options include repositioning the boiler, rerouting the boiler piping to a more open area, or performing minor remodeling to create the necessary space. If you are unsure whether your boiler needs an expansion tank or how to best accommodate one, it's recommended to have a local heating service professional assess the situation. They can confirm the requirement and suggest the most practical solution.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

Many HVAC companies offer free quotes and free estimates for repairs and new HVAC systems. Others offer low-cost quotes or apply the cost of the estimates or diagnostics to your final bill if you hire them. Be aware that some companies advertise free HVAC quotes and recoup the costs by charging more for their services. Free HVAC quotes are never truly free—they cost the company time and effort—so be a good customer. Also understand that you may end up paying for free quotes in another way if you don’t hire a reputable company.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
