"I had a bad experience with this company. The guy I dealt with was James Gonzales . It’s been 3 weeks since I first contacted him and I’m still waiting for a receipt, which makes me think he overcharged us for a part. Scheduling was a huge hassle too -he’s very disorganized and lacks follow-up, so if you’re a busy person, choose someone else. We gave him time to get the 2 parts needed for the repair, even when one had to come from factory, and even offering to pay for them in advance in order to secure them both. But he never confirmed. My husband and I are both very busy people so scheduling home repairs is never easy. We only had time for him to come once and do all repairs needed. But instead, James assumed mid-way over the 3 weeks , that I was a housewife with nothing to do but wait for his coming whenever he pleased: I got a text one day, unexpectedly, announcing his coming that same day (??) , on a day of his choosing (!) and with only one part in hand, and without ever confirming if there would be someone at home. People work! My speaking Spanish apparently boosted his sexism. Luckily, I stopped him on time. Regarding the cost, I’m still wondering how a simple timer for a dryer can be $100. Maybe, but without a proper receipt, I can’t know. I don’t know how we ended up paying $250 total to change a $30 dryer felt (the only price I ever got) and a timer. I don’t know if the $50 visit was incorporated into the labor itself, or if it was in addition . My husband saw the receipt quickly (James said he would send me the receipt by email, but he had never asked me for my email in the first place! —his intake for new customers is awful , very disorganized) and after several* requests from me, he finally said he would send the receipt- but we only heard from him after my husband was forced to contact him himself, given he wasn’t answering my texts , which were always polite and respectful btw. So I sent him my email. As of today, still no reply and still no receipt. My husband tells me the visit itself was good. But James had to be asked to give an ETA that day, and he sent it quite late, not knowing if my husband could stay that late. It is important for busy people who have things to do to know when a repair person will arrive : My husband had somewhere to go after the visit. At the end, James was apparently thorough with the repair and explained how to avoid future problems, but having him ever come again? Forget it!"

Here at Schiller Air Conditioning, we provide HVAC services to our customers. Our goal is to create a successful partnership with our customers throughout the years, to establish lasting relationships with them by exceeding their expectations and gaining their trust through unparalleled service. Our main focus is to do the work right the first time. We want to help our customers in every way possible and ensure the longevity of our company through the repeat and referral business achieved by customer satisfaction in areas such as timeliness and attention to detail. Our relationships with our suppliers, subcontractors, professional associates, and customers are our top priority. Joe started in the HVAC business during the summers in high school for a company called I&S. In 1985 Joe ventured out to create a partnership, a company named R&S Air Conditioning. Joe quickly realized that the company wasn't going in the right direction, so in May of 1988 he created Schiller Air Conditioning. He started the company with a vision that one day it would be family owned and operated, and that the company would always put the customer first. Schiller Air Conditioning has worked with manufactures such as Whirlpool, which changed to Tempstar around 1986. We switched to Lennox in 1997 and in 2000 with demand for more energy efficiency equipment we switched to Carrier and have been with since. We are heating and cooling Professionals! We maintain a high level of quality among our staff. All of our installers and technicians are trained on a regular, on-going basis. We, and they, are certified by the following industry organizations: License Number: State of Texas HVAC License TACLB8669E Bonded & Insured Carrier Dealer and NATE Certified

"My father got the recommendation and he arranged the service for me on our system. They were very good. They're fair and thorough."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

You reset your AC after a power outage by turning off the air conditioner from the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, waiting 30 minutes, turning on the AC from the thermostat, and waiting 10 minutes to see the impact. Sometimes, with a power outage, the AC needs time to reset itself, so resetting the circuit breaker alone may not do the trick.

No, it’s not normal for AC vents to drip condensation. A sweating AC vent is a sign of something wrong and can lead to issues like air duct rust or mold growth. Your HVAC unit might not be working efficiently because of a dirty filter or clogged ducts. Alternatively, your ductwork might not have adequate insulation, which allows the cool air in the ducts to meet the humid air outside, causing condensation.

While both have advantages, a split system is generally cheaper than a ducted one. Because they are less invasive to install, the labor costs are lower, and they can be more energy efficient. But, a ducted system might be worth the investment if you run it more frequently.

The time it takes for an air conditioner to dry fully after cleaning depends on the unit's size and humidity levels. Most units will dry within two to four hours after cleaning, but check the manufacturer's recommendations for drying times. Make sure to leave the unit off until it's completely dry.

An HVAC unit, like a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump, produces warm or hot air. The air ducts serve as the passages to help heat or cool air from the HVAC unit flow through the home. Air ducts are just one part of the overall HVAC system.
