First, when I was first talking with them about a price for the move I received a quote for the job, which i was fine with and agreed to pay. Several days passed and when it was time to sign a contract they jumped the price up and added $300.00. When I spoke to the manager, Maj Masri, she took zero responsibility for the issue. She claimed the quote came from a junior staff member who had not been there long and she made an error, giving me a lower price than i should have. Maj was very snippy and again put all blame on new employee and proposed no solutions.
After agreeing with the price i set up a pick up time for my things. They had a guarantee that they would pick up the same day as we agreed upon. I was expecting them to pick my things up at a reasonable time, but they showed up at 10:30pm for my things. They made good on the guarantee, but i did not expect them to come in that late in the evening and much later than we originally agreed upon. They came so late because they end their pick up times at midnight, which i thought was a but ridiculous.
They did deliver almost all of my belongings by the expected delivery date. However, nearly all of my boxes (which were all new boxes) had been smashed, deformed, or cut open. Most of my glassware was broken and they also broke several big pieces of furniture. When informed them of the broken items they told me I need to fill out a claim (the man i spoke to about this was) because i purchased the movers insurance. In order to fill out a claim they told me i needed to do several things: write a letter detailing the damages, pictures of the damages, copy of the contract, two quotes from a furniture repairman, and the receipt of purchase. This seemed like an awful lot do do just to submit a claim, so I contacted the company who handles the claims. They gave me a completely different form and way of filling out the claim that was very easy.
I was also missing a massage table from the move. I contacted them about the item and they told me they would locate the table and deliver it to my house, which took 11 days for them to day. When the employee dropped the table off he told me the table had been sitting in the office the entire time but they did not know what it was. They made no real effort to complete the delivery and bring me my belongings. The contract that I signed stated that every day the delivery is not completed by the time we agreed upon, they would pay $15.00 a day for non delivery. When they finally brought the last piece they would not honor the $15.00 non delivery, stating they made the delivery on time but just forgot a piece. For me i thought it was all or nothing delivered to be considered done so this frustrated me.
This was a horrible experience and would never recommend this company to anyone.
On the morning of June 29th, I didn't hear from Condor Moving Systems. At 9:45 am, I called Condor Moving to ask what is happening. A few minutes later I received a call from the leader of the moving crew and he stated they wouldn't arrive until 11:30 because they didn't leave early enough. I specifically requested that my move was the first job of the day so that the crew wouldn't be delayed. While I waited for hours, I emptied the all the drawers of items and packed many things even though I had paid for a full pack since the crew was so late.
Finally, the Condor Moving team arrived at 11:30 and because they couldn't park right next to the loading dock due to the size of the truck they informed me that they were going to just leave. I had to beg them to pack and move my furniture. Also, they charged me an additional long haul fee since they couldn't park next to the loading dock.
Once the team of three started packing my items, I read the paperwork which specifically stated and was highlighted that the team was to call on the 28th to inform me of a specific time they would arrive. The paperwork also stated to arrive prior to 9 am because the I had an elevator reserved from 9 am to 12 pm. It was obvious that the dispatcher and crew didn't care about the specific instructions even though it was highlighted.
When the crew finished packing my furniture, I was informed that I would receive a weight later that day. Two days later I called Condor Moving since I didn't receive an email or phone call regarding the weight of my furniture. I was informed that the crew didn't weigh my furniture as they were supposed to have done. The weight would be provided when the furniture is placed on the truck to transport my furniture to my new home.
My items were stored by Condor Moving Systems at the company warehouse from June 29th until some time around August 15th when the items were placed on a truck bound for Arizona. On August 19th, representatives for Condor Moving
Systems arrived at my new residence in Arizona. Upon arrival the representatives notified me that one item was missing and that it was never put on the truck in Arlington, Texas. The driver indicated the item was missing on the Household Goods Descriptive Inventory when he picked up my items at the warehouse. Also, the weight wasn't calculated of my furniture when the goods were picked up at the warehouse as I was promised. The weight was finally determined several hours after my furniture was unpacked from the truck, however it took over a week for Condor to inform me of the weight since the paperwork was somehow slow to arrive and be processed despite my multiple phone calls.
Upon unpacking I noticed that many of my items were badly scraped, scratched, and dented. The moving crew that packed the items didn't unscrew the legs of a desk prior to packing and the legs are broken. Also, they didn't pack a painting correctly so the cardboard was stuck to the painting, so it's ruined.
The office staff at Condor Moving seem to want to handle things properly, but the dispatcher and moving crews were not professional.
-Condor passed off the moving process from thier operation to another company... located in Los Angeles!-
-The movers who showed up were people they hired the day of the move... althought they were quite courteous, they were far from professional.
-The truck provided was not large enough for my household goods necesitating a second day, and another truck for the moving of the rest of my household
-In spite of my request to put my items in storage, Condor (or the company from Los Angeles?) attempted to deliver my items directly from Phoenix, causing a problem with the current residents of the home... who did not know they were going to be asked to move yet.
-In spite of several items being damaged, Condor did not even return my phone calls in order to discuss this.
-Condor did not deliver my items on the date requested... claiming they have a 10 day window to deliver the items "according to the contract"
-I spite of my desire to discuss these issues with the owner of Condor, it was apparent they were only interested in collecting thier money, that they insisted be paid in cash.
-Condor ultimately charged me 20% more than they originally quoted in spite of me providing a pretty accurate inventory of my items prior to the move. Presumably they underbid to get the work, then....
There is really much more, but I think you get the idea... steer clear of these folks.
