"The contractor that was supposed to fix my fence ghosted me after promising to finish the job for two weeks. I contacted Ram Fence Company, and they came out the same day to measure and give me a quote. I was happy with the quote, and they came out the following day to complete the job. So far, I am very satisfied with my fence and there are no obvious problems with it."

"On time for Thursday appointment. Explained what needed to be done to repair and replace as needed in order to accomplish a plan that worked for me. Work began Friday morning, on time. My fence was damaged previously by tornado damage, trees crushed fence to the ground in some areas and entire area was grown up with shrubs ,weeds , trees , and damaged top rails caused by my horse reaching over the fence . They removed damaged fencing and taller fence installed to keep my horse from pushing fence down. They repaired my large gates and replaced some top rails on fence around my home. They worked with me by making repairs when possible. They also cleared some brush from around my fence and kept me informed on everything they did. Knowledgeable, friendly, and great work. Fair price."

"These folks responded quickly to me. I worked directly with the owners of the company. They took out my existing (falling apart) wood picket fence (483'), hauled it off and had my new fence in the same day. They had to come back the next day to install one of my gates because I decided to change the size from 5' to 8' for mowers. They did it without any issue. Highly recommend for cost and availability."

"We hired Southland Structures to build a fence around our backyard, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. James was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, offering several options that suited our needs and budget. He and his crew were professional, attentive, and truly committed to making sure the final result matched our vision. They asked detailed questions, listened closely, and delivered exactly what we were hoping for—if not more. The fence turned out even better than we imagined. To top it off, they started the project well ahead of schedule and completed the entire build in just two days. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend James, his team, and Southland Structures for any project. They’ll be our first call for any future building needs."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

For fencing projects in Spring Hill, keep a sturdy post-hole digger for clay soil, gravel for drainage, and a mildew cleaner to combat humidity. Stock rust-resistant screws, galvanized hardware, and a wood stain or sealant rated for TN’s temperature swings. A pressure washer helps with fence maintenance after storms, while replacement boards and tree trimming tools address damage from local vegetation and weather.

Helpful?

In Spring Hill, consistently letting sprinklers soak fence posts or piling mulch against them can trap moisture in the clay soil, leading to early rot. Allowing vines or shrubs to grow unchecked stresses the fence structure, and skipping routine fence maintenance during mild winters lets small issues worsen. Using harsh cleaners or neglecting annual cleaning also accelerates wear in TN’s humid climate.

Helpful?

In Spring Hill, unexpected costs often arise from the need for extra gravel or concrete due to dense clay soil, or from renting specialized digging equipment. You might also face expenses for property surveys, utility line marking, or tree removal. Homeowners’ association approvals can add steps, and sudden storms may cause delays or damage, impacting fence repair timelines in TN’s unpredictable weather.

Helpful?

To ensure a smooth fencing project in Spring Hill, confirm property lines with a recent survey and review permit requirements. Schedule installation during milder months to avoid summer heat and storms. Test soil drainage and grade for water runoff, as local clay can cause pooling. Consider future landscaping and coordinate with neighbors in Spring Hill’s growing neighborhoods to prevent disputes and streamline fence installation.

Helpful?

Signs in Spring Hill that a minor fencing issue could escalate include leaning posts, water pooling at the base, or cracks in the concrete footing—often due to shifting clay soil. Watch for mold, rust, or soft wood at ground level, especially after humid spells. Sagging gates, missing hardware, or visible root and vine intrusion are early warnings that prompt fence repair is needed.
