Customers say: Super punctual

"The contractor that was supposed to fix my fence ghosted me after promising to finish the job for two weeks. I contacted Ram Fence Company, and they came out the same day to measure and give me a quote. I was happy with the quote, and they came out the following day to complete the job. So far, I am very satisfied with my fence and there are no obvious problems with it."

"When Frank gave me a quote for my fence, I felt it was very fair. The gates didn’t change the price by much. When he realized later in the process he gave me a credit. I was nervous seeing the fence go up and worried he might not finish the last bit, but he did and he did a great job. My only criticism of frank is that he should provide a more realistic schedule that accounts for the heat and tricky labor market, but the quality of the finished product was well worth the wait. The design was super simple and without any weird fringes, all the edges lined up in a nice way, and I was pleAsed with all the little design decisions that Frank made along the way. Frank was honest, polite, knowledgeable, responsive and a good communicator and fair negotiator. I will use him in the future for other types of projects, but I can vouch for him…he knows how to make a very solid, sturdy, fence and make good decisions as to how the fence fits into the site. I highly recommend Frank Lupo at A Step Above Construction. He was also considerate about noise and cleanliness."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The plants that grow well on a hog wire fence are any type of climbing or vining plant. This includes garden crops such as green beans, squash, and potatoes as well as jasmine and ivy. Compared to other farm fencing costs, hog wire comes at an affordable price and makes a great trellis if you plant climbing vines along the base of the fence.

Options include ornamental designs, custom gates, and various finishes. Consult with your installer for customization.

You'll pay less on average for the cost of a wooden fence compared to aluminum. However, the price highly depends on the type of wood, the fence design, and extra additions like gates and coats of paint. For example, you may pay less to install an aluminum fence since the panels anchor in the ground, whereas wood fences often take longer to construct, especially picket fences.

The best wood for a farm fence is pressure-treated wood that will stand up to various weather conditions, animal contact, and moisture. Farm fences need to resist rot and damage, so choose a species such as cedar or redwood. The natural oils in these woods give them decay resistance, which also makes them ideal for other fence types, such as a wooden snow fence.

The best fence option for you depends on your property, budget, and style preferences, but a corrugated metal fence could be a good option if you want something durable yet low-maintenance. Unlike wood, corrugated metal won’t fall prey to rot or pest damage, and the metal can be recycled after its life as a fence comes to an end.
