"I had a small siding repair that no one was willing to do. Most companies only want to sell new siding and ignore other work. New improve happily took the task and never even mentioned new siding. It wasnt cheap, but whenever someone pulls a ladder out of the truck thats normal. I rent houses and this is the fastest easist contractor ive used."

"Mr. Roof was absolutely wonderful! They helped us with our insurance claim, completed the roof in one day, cleaned everything perfectly, followed up with us consistently and answered any question we had. I would highly recommend and am so glad we chose this company! They even sent a nice thank you gift and note after everything was completed. A+ customer service"

"Hats off to Lee and his team at Storm Guard Roofing. I have routinely had them to my house at least once a year to check the condition and it eventually had damage from straight line winds. Lee walked me through the entire process and made sure my insurance company covered me for the losses. The new roof is fantastic and I trust that if there are any issues in the future, I can reach out to him and he will be on top of it."

"Great company for vinyl fence. Top notch product. A little on the expensive side, but project manager Don was great to work with. He took care of getting the paperwork to the HOA, so we could get the project going. He also kept me informed along the way. The installer was hardworking and nice. He kept the job site clean. This Company has the best vinyl fence warranty."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Hardie board is more expensive than vinyl siding. Vinyl siding costs $3 to $12 per square foot, on average, with cost skewing toward the lower end of that range. Hardie board siding costs $7 to $18 per square foot, depending on the style, color, and trim. However, it lasts twice as long and often looks nicer, meaning you’ll see a higher bump in your home value and greater curb appeal from Hardie board.

You can calculate the required square footage of siding you need by measuring the height and width of your home’s rectangular exterior walls. For the triangular-shaped gable walls, measure the height from the ground to the tallest gable point to make sure you have enough for good coverage. Once you have combined the totals for each wall, add another 10% to account for wasted materials. It’s also good to have extra siding on hand to tackle wood siding repair down the road.

Both vinyl and metal are very popular siding options, and it’s important to weigh the pros and cons of each before making a decision for your home. Vinyl has a lower price point than metal and is easier to install, but metal siding is more durable, longer-lasting, and requires much less maintenance. The upfront costs could save you money in the long run.

Concrete log siding can last several decades, from 30 to 50 years or more, as long as you keep up with proper maintenance. Luckily, concrete log siding is much lower maintenance than typical types of wood siding, so you’ll also have fewer expenses during that time. To keep your concrete log siding in good shape, you’ll simply need to reseal it every two to five years. Confirm with your manufacturer to determine how often to reseal.

Many modern homes have soffits, but older ones don’t, and you may be wondering why. Older homes have eaves that extend further beyond the home and help to circulate air, negating the need for a soffit. This style of building has faded away, therefore, modern homes need separate soffit installation. Modern soffits are more efficient than this older style and require less material to construct, saving homeowners money.
