Our principal approach at American Fence and Gate, LLC is to live by the Golden Rule. We take great pride in satisfying our customers. We want our customers to feel that we treat them like our own family. That is, our customer's satisfaction is more important to us than making money. We strongly believe that if we do this, we will build an excellent brand, reputation and referral base. Secondly, we pull from our years of experience in historic restoration and new construction, to hold down operating costs. We focus on building a higher number of fences, with moderate margins/high value, in contrast to building fewer fences with higher margins.

These folks responded quickly to me. I worked directly with the owners of the company. They took out my existing (falling apart) wood picket fence (483'), hauled it off and had my new fence in the same day. They had to come back the next day to install one of my gates because I decided to change the size from 5' to 8' for mowers. They did it without any issue. Highly recommend for cost and availability.

Once installed the quality of fence looks very good. Communication not so great. Has also ordered wire mesh for bottom two feet of fence that installer didn’t know about. Also installers threw dirt under shrubs and in drain ditch instead of hauling away. Again, fence quality appears very good and solid. Just lack of communication which was a little annoying especially when pointed out part of order missing.

We had an aluminum estate gate installed, through many errors and poor workmanship, the gate was damaged and defaced. We tried to hold them to their warranty, and they refused. We spent $2200.00 and the gate is only 7 months old, the warranty is for 24 months. They talk big about satisfying their customers, but have treated us shockingly disrespectful and unprofessional. Cannot recommend, very dishonest business.

"(consumer name withheld per their request) initially gave us a good review. We had a manufactures defect that requires that we weld a hinge on site. His wife then gave us our first stinging review. Once this correction was made, the latch no longer lined up correctly. The latch was changed out and demonstrated to her. There was now additional communication from (consumer name withheld per their request), for two weeks we asked for an updated review expecting a positive response. What we got was completely unexpected and rude. We have offered to go to BBB mediation, but they have refused. Our current offer is to buy the gate back for $1,000 more than they paid us. We feel this is reasonable, but they continue to try drag us into a verbal battle. To my peers in the fence and gate business, I can not recommend (consumer name withheld per their request) and his wife as a customer!"

This company did a remarkable job of installing our beautiful fence. The only reason I did not give them five stars on customer service was due to their not doing the installation when they said they would. In their defense, though, I was told that the lumber company they used had run out of lumber.
