"We worked with Roof MD to repair a leaking sunroom roof. Shawn answered all the questions we had (which was a lot!) and offered great follow-up on scheduling. They were quick to schedule the service, showed up on time, and got the job done. The crew was friendly and tidy. While I hope I don't have a roof leak again, I would definitely hire them again!"

"Wonderful from the beginning the inspector. The inspector was kind and explained everything they first came and moved everything for me to do their service. They came two weeks later to redo my basement, which had been flooded with water after completion. They came back and put things back for me, get an A+ for me"

"He responded promptly to my request for an estimate, he was thorough in looking over the job, and considered what it would take to repair our roof. He gave us a fair estimate (and not trying to sell us more than we needed, as other companies had), returned the next day and completed the job. He was prompt, professional and answered all questions."

"Pinnacle was very great. They did an excellent job and cleaned up very well when the job was completed. As far as, financing through them, not so great. Do not finance through Aqua Finance, go else where. Aqua Finance will not put any extra payments on your principle. I, myself, am getting away from Aqua Financing. Seach them and check out what is going on before you finance through them."

"Cy is a true craftsman. It was so hard to find a quality roofer who actually knew how to find the problem and repair a metal roof. We spent thousands on 4 other roofers who all couldnâ t fix the problem. Cy took time to explain to us what was wrong. His price was more than fair. He returns your calls, he clearly explains what he needs to do, he comes to do the work as promised on the date he promised. Cy is the real deal."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The principal, common, and auxiliary rafters are the most frequently used types of rafters. Principal rafters are large and typically appear toward the edges of the roof. Common rafters are smaller than principal rafters. Some people may use a mix of common and principal rafters. The auxiliary rafter is not common, but it provides extra reinforcement for a principal rafter on a large building.

Yes, impact-resistant roofs can lower your homeowners insurance. Some insurance companies offer discounts or reduced rates if you use Class 4 or Class 3 shingles.

Green roofs are incredibly long-lasting. Some have life spans of up to 40 or 50 years. Since the roofs help to protect the rest of your home's roofing system, they can also extend the life of your existing roof.

Regular maintenance and inspections will help you get the most out of your green roof and ensure it lasts as long as possible.

A chimney cap costs about $300 on average to install, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the professional you hire, the accessibility of your chimney, the cap's material and size, whether any repairs are needed, and if it requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, stainless steel, or copper. Copper caps are the most expensive, followed by stainless steel and then galvanized steel. Excluding labor, average material costs are around $100 for galvanized steel, $250 for stainless steel, and $600 for copper. You may also face additional costs, such as hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before the cap is installed.

The best type of roof vent depends on the size, type, and construction of your roof as well as the environmental conditions in and around your home. In many cases, an active ventilation system that draws in fresh air and exhausts air out through the attic is the most effective. Active ventilation systems include roof ridge vents with baffles, turbine vents, and soffit vents that are used together with another type of vent.
