"The quote to do my house and garage including replacing my gutters with a larger size and gutter guard was less than another quote I got for just a roof on my house. The roof was done last July in extreme heat but The crew did an excellent job and cleaned after themselves. Very pleased!"

"Everyone who worked on the project at my home were on time, professional, and courteous. Courtney was very efficient in coordinating all the schedules and keeping me informed at all times. Brad did a great job overseeing the roofing and making sure the job was done and everything was cleaned up afterward. Wyatt and Andy did an expert job on water damage under gutter area. Good to find a business with people that show up and keep their word."

"We worked with Roof MD to repair a leaking sunroom roof. Shawn answered all the questions we had (which was a lot!) and offered great follow-up on scheduling. They were quick to schedule the service, showed up on time, and got the job done. The crew was friendly and tidy. While I hope I don't have a roof leak again, I would definitely hire them again!"

Small jobs welcome

"These are a group of fine people who did an excellent job on both the house painting and the new roof. They did the whole thing in less less than 7 day. The work was excellent! We were throughly impressed with their professionalism and the work pace as well as the attention to detail. They checked with us every step of the way to make sure we were satified and updated on any changes needed along with pricing. I will hire this group again in the future for other work that we need done. They cleaned up daily and everything looked fantastic. I recommend giving them a try and i think anyone else too will be impressed. Thanks to them for a job WELL done."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Roofing replacements and repairs expose the interior of your home to the elements. Failing to protect these areas during inclement weather can cause extensive damage and job delays. Have a conversation with your pro to learn their plans to use tarps, plastic sheeting, or other waterproofing methods to keep your home safe. Also, ask whether your pro will inspect your home during rain or snow to ensure the covering works.

Unfortunately, there’s no definitive answer to this question, but the wind rating of your shingles will give you a good idea of what wind speeds can damage your roof. If you’re concerned about damage, inspect your roof following windy conditions to look for signs of wind damage to your shingles. When in doubt, consider hiring a professional who fixes roofs to carry out an expert inspection. Remember that hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes are likely to cause the most damage, but even severe thunderstorms can bring winds that compromise your roofing system.

More and more insurance companies are writing torch down applications out of their liability insurance for contractors. If torch down is covered, they generally require a worker to stay on site for two hours after the last flame is extinguished.

For this reason, cold application modified bitumen—also known as “peel and stick”—is becoming more popular, and torch down is decreasing in popularity. Modified bitumen is taking its place, as it uses both hot and cold applications.

Yes, because it prevents water damage, deters pests from accessing the roof decking, protects the roof from wind damage, and lengthens the roof's life. Plus, building codes require it.

The placement of snow guards depends on the individual roof, but typically snow guards are placed between 12 and 18 inches from the eaves, though they can be placed as close as six inches and as far as 24 inches from the eaves. A roofing professional can assess the roof and potential snow loads to determine the best placement.
