Small jobs welcome

"If anyone is looking for a company to lay sod, I HIGHLY recommend these guys at N&l Landscapes! I got a bunch of quotes from 10+ other local companies and these guys were one of the lower quotes. They weren't the lowest, but I could definitely tell they had the best customer service and were the easiest/fastest with their communication! Which, in my book, is always worth the extra cost! The new lawn looks amazing! They were able to grade the entire lawn to make low points higher to avoid puddling, and they managed to cover tree roots that were sticking up! I'm already telling everyone about them!"

"We had a tree fall on our house after Hurricane Helene. We had another tree service initially work on the removal but it was a difficult, complex job and required heavy equipment. Pedro and his company were working in our neighborhood and we asked him to assess the job. He quoted us a fair price and told us when he would be there to do the work. Pedro was available whenever I reached out to him and answered all our questions. He and his crew professionally managed the removal of the tree from our house without further damage. They ensured the worksite was cleared and cleaned before closing out the job. We were very pleased with the work and would recommend PMC Landscaping & Tree Service to others."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

To adhere pavers to concrete, you can use either mortar or a concrete-specific adhesive. For border pavers, a polyurethane-based adhesive is a good choice as it expands and contracts with temperature changes, keeping them firmly in place. For the non-border pavers, polymeric sand is used between the joints to prevent shifting. In most cases, it is also recommended to lay a permeable sand layer below the pavers to ensure proper stability and drainage. Before starting, always take the proper preparatory steps for a professional result.

A 500-square-foot driveway can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000, depending on the type of pavers you choose. Grass and concrete pavers are more affordable, while stone and cobblestone pavers are on the higher end of that price range. You’ll save some money by DIYing the installation, though we highly recommend sticking with a professional for this type of driveway installation.

Asphalt paving offers several benefits, including cost-effectiveness and a quick installation process. It provides a durable and smooth surface, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. With proper maintenance, asphalt also offers longevity.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.
