"I contacted Refloor from an add i saw on Facebook. Reason being is I had recently gotten a new puppy and after a couple weeks of him being left out in the house while at work I came home to realize I had 2 layers of linoleum over the subfloor. He did a number on both layers. The crew from Refloor was great to work with, accommodating and top tier workmanship. Couldn't be happier with the end product, house looks new somehow even. Would highly recommend for anyone's flooring needs based off my experience. Definitely a happy customer here."

"We were in a bind when our flooring installer banged out on the scheduled day of installation. Steve came out that day to estimate the job. He had his crew there the next day and they were professional and extremely knowledgeable. Our floor is beautiful! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional job!"

"I hired Rocky Flooring because my carpets literally had some rough edges (due to foot traffic, wheelchair traffic, and three active dogs) at all of the transitions to hard flooring. They did excellent work! The two men showed up on time and got right to work. They were able to stretch the existing carpet and then reattach it to the original transition strips. Things look as good as new! I recommend Rocky Flooring to anyone who needs carpet repair work done."

"I don't provide many reviews for companies, as I feel like as long as you aren't messing up, you're doing your job as expected. However, this company did SO MUCH MORE than just not mess up. My experience was great from start to finish. During the COVID-19 crisis, I was on short time to have carpets professionally cleaned in a rental home before our lease ended. I could not get other companies to answer their phones, return calls, or respond to emails. On my first call to this company, I was greeted by the most pleasant person. Sumer was personable, kind and patient and worked with me to find the best option and pricing structure for what I needed and was able to book services within 2 days! She was so helpful that I decided to go ahead and book services for our new home as well. As Sumer said, this company is loyal to its customers. She offered a travel charge discount, as our new home is not within the immediate service area, and she again worked with me to determine the best options and pricing structure to meet my needs. I did not meet Ricky for the first service, as I was not present. He was on time, however, calling me at the very beginning of the time window to let me know he was on site. I also got a notification when he left the property, following the instructions for where to put the receipt and key and how to lock up, etc. I did have the pleasure of meeting Ricky for the second service at my new home as well as his daughter. Ricky and Kenya arrived within the time window and were incredibly professional and friendly. They talked to me about options for furniture cleaning (a service I had requested - they were NOT pushy salespeople) and walked me through what I could expect. There were many stains in the carpet and having just moved into the home, we had no idea how long they had been there. Our huge sectional had also seen MUCH better days. Ricky and Kenya worked tirelessly and although my sectional doesn't look brand new (it's probably 8 years old), it looks far better than it has looked in well over 5 years and smells amazing! With 3 young children, it will never be perfect, but I can feel good about inviting guests into my home again without being embarrassed about the appearance of our furniture. They were absolute miracle workers! My only regret here is not taking a before and after photo - I'm positive if they had that to show clients, they'd be cleaning everyone's furniture in the entire Greenville and surrounding area. Ricky also was sure to tell me about "problem" areas with the carpet as he went. Mind you, he took some stains from being very obvious, dark and prominent to barely being visible while the rest are completely gone! He also showed me the difference in the carpet before and after and again, I wish I had photos to share. The carpets went from looking dull and almost grey to the bright tan that they're supposed to be! It's seriously a night and day difference. They sanitized, did stain removal, and cleaned the carpets while they deep cleaned, did stain removal, and stain protected the sectional (and surely odor removal based on how great my house smells now). They were very efficient and worked quickly (but tediously) and were very considerate, being sure to keep moisture off of new wood flooring and not track dirt into the house. I could go on, but I'll leave it at that and say that if you are looking for any of the services offered by this company (which expand far beyond carpets and upholstery), then look no further. No will NOT be disappointed if you book with them!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. You can tile over tile if the old tile is in good shape, but this will also create a thicker floor. As a result, you may have to remove and readjust baseboards and other room trimmings and potentially even raise door heights to work with the higher floors. In most projects, it’s best to remove the old tile before installing a new tile floor.

Installing carpet over carpet may affect the warranty of the new carpet. Check with the manufacturer or retailer regarding their warranty policies. Many warranties stipulate specific installation guidelines, and installing carpet over carpet may not comply with these requirements. Voiding the warranty due to improper installation methods can leave you without help in case of issues or defects with the new carpet.

It’s possible to reuse household materials to cover floors, but they won’t provide the same level of protection as dedicated materials. They’re also more difficult to tape down and more prone to slipping and bunching up—and any dirt or debris on them could scratch or stain your floors. That being said, extra materials like these can be useful for protecting the sides of furniture and placing in areas that could use added protection.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

If your floor is still sticky after mopping, chances are you used too much or too little of the cleaning solution. Using too little won’t get all of the grime off, but using too much can leave its own residue. Refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions and dilute it as directed.
