Atlantic Water Products offers a wide variety of home water treatment systems and air purifier options for residents of Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Central and Southern New Jersey, and Delaware who want better quality water and fresh air for their families. We have been serving local homeowners since 1987 by offering superior products that will last for years. We also focus on addressing the specific needs of our customers and providing customized solutions, with an individualized approach that begins with our complimentary in-home water testing service.

"Do not be deceived by this scam. We thought we could trust Home Depot back in 2015 when they offered us a free water test after we bought our first home. Lo and behold it was a LENGTHY sales pitch using psuedo-science that played upon the vulnerable situation we were in at the time (one of us was having frightening chronic health problems that were getting worse by the day.) We were not allowed to have time to think about our decision and were told our water was bad based on a psuedo-scientific magic trick. Could we get back to them tomorrow? No the decision had to be made that day. To the tune of $7,000. Oh but they were throwing in so many freebies for us! Come to find out this system is only worth a few thousand dollars. Fast forward five years and we have to pay HUNDREDS per year to maintain this system. Additionally, all along the customer service of the distributer, Atlantic Water Products (AWP,) has been atrocious. Very unprofessional. We have to call 3 and 4 times to get a call back. We are clearly low priority now that we've bought the system. We moved recently, to a home that is a 2 minute drive from our previous home. Our first appointment to have the water system removed was canceled only hours beforehand. So we had to leave the system and then arrange with the new residents to have it removed by AWP a month later (which was the soonest we could get.) AWP does not allow same day removal and installation. You have to call them again once the system is removed to schedule installation. BUT they don't call you back until you've called 3-4 times. So we weren't able to get a re-installation scheduled for another month. When we finally got them on the phone they told us that since our system had been sitting for over 24 hours we now were advised to pay an additional $700 for new filters... keep in mind removal was $300 and installation will be ANOTHER $300. So we have to pay $1,300 to move this system, $700 of which we have to pay only because they don't allow same day installation!! The unprofessional way the company is run as well as the scammy way the sale went down has really made me question whether this product is even legitimate. A few years back I grilled one of the customer service people repeatedly to find out whether the system filters our lead. All I ever eventually got was a one sentence email saying "yes it filters out lead." No NSF certification, no "this is how it works" etc. Last year when the technician was installing replacement parts I saw that one of the under-sink cartridges had a new label with just SO many psuedo-scientific claims on it- It said it prevents cancer!? The only thing I will say is that the technicians have always seemed professional. But no one told us when we moved our system that it couldn't sit for longer than 24 hours. No one told us about the risk of bacteria. When we called to complain Gus Pfaundler, who runs the service department at AWP told us HE was disappointed with US! For not wanting to be scammed I guess? Please be aware that multiple lawsuits against Rainsoft and Home Depot for this scam have been filed and won. Please be aware there are other products that do the same thing and are cheaper. And don't be naive like we were when we were scared for our health and desperate- if someone tells you you can't take a day or two to think about whether to buy something you have to stop and ask yourself what they are afraid you will discover in 24-48 hours of research."

"They came in to give an estimate for updating the water treatment systems. He told me my systems were not within code & would have to be updated if I chose to sell the house. I had no reason to question him. He said if they did the update & annual water treatment servicing of my UV, sediment, RO & water softener it would cost me less than the company I usually used for the annual service plus the cost of updating to code. Turned out not to be true. It cost a lot more when the bill was presented. Their annual service was more than the other company. About 6 months after they "brought my water system plumbing up to code" I started to have serious problems with my water systems & skin reactions. The sediment filter had to be changed 5 months earlier than normal. I can't prove that they created the problems, however when I called them to let them know there were problems after their work they have still not returned my call many months later. They didn't have any problem calling to schedule the next annual service. When I reminded them they failed to return my call when their last service created problems they again didn't return my call."

Family owned, and operated full service plumbing company. Proudly serving all of Bucks and Montgomery Counties. We are a honest, professional service company that strives to provide the very best in class customer-service. We are open 24/7 offering everything from drain cleaning, to water heater installation.

"Price Gouging/COVID19 Profiteering Alert! Thanks Mallard Plumbing for over-charging me on my new water heater. Home guide says a new gas water heater should run $600-$1,800. Mallard picked my pocket for $2,900 for a standard 40 gallon Bradford White install. We were "up against it" as the next Saturday morning we had to attend my 36 year old nephews funeral. I tried to buy local and Mallard Plumbing certainly put it to me. $800 per hour for a plumber?"

We are general mechanical electrical contractors specializing in residential and commercial applications your one stop shop for all your needs

"We hired this contractor almost a year ago to do various projects. The work was supposed to be finished in 10 days according to the contract. We are here almost a year later and there is still work that is unfinished. I paid Martin before all of the work was completed, and I can’t get ahold of him to finish the work now. The pipe still hasn’t been cut, and there is still a huge piece of concrete in our side yard. I’m not sure what to do now."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Installing a water softener could help reduce calcium buildup in your pool if your pool has high calcium hardness as a result of hard drinking water in your home. Pool softeners work by exchanging calcium and magnesium for sodium, so if you use softened water to top off your pool, it may help keep calcium hardness from rising over time. However, it won’t lower the calcium hardness of the water already in your pool and isn’t a practical way to control pool calcium levels. The average water softener installation cost is between $200 and $6,000.

Water softener versus water filter: which one should you choose? If you want to remove minerals, opt for a softener. If you want to remove a wide range of contaminants, go for a filter. Or, you can install both.

You should not use a water conditioner with a water softener because a water conditioner changes the chemistry of the water and causes the ion exchange in a softener to be ineffective. Choose a water softener if you have hard water or well water, and use a water conditioner if you need to remove certain contaminants.

Soft water is better for your hair. The minerals in hard water can impact hair in a number of ways. It can cause the hair to dry out and become brittle, and it can require you to use more shampoo to get a good lather. The hard water may leave a film on the hair and scalp from mineral buildup, which may also cause some irritation.

Water softener life spans range from 10 to 25 years, with most lasting around 15 years on average. After the 10-year mark, you may see your softener’s performance diminish as it progresses in age. Proper water softener maintenance can impact how long your water softener lasts. Likewise, a home with very hard water or a high demand will put more demand on your softener, which in turn shortens its life span.
