"My husband and I used Paradigm Home Solutions to waterproof our basement. It was a pleasure working with Andy from start to finish. He came out on a weekend to give us an estimate to accommodate our schedule even though he had personal plans that day. He did not try to scare us into purchasing more products, pressure us to sign that day to lock in a price or pay a large deposit to secure the job like nearly every other company that offered us an estimate. Instead he was very knowledgeable and laid back. He gave us a very fair price and even threw in a window drain where other companies wanted to charge a few hundred dollars more. On the day of installation, he was there to help and ensure the job went smoothly. The work was initially planned for two days but was finished in one. The area was left clean and dry. Afterwards we used Andy’s suggestion and put down carpet. Now it is like we have a finished basement which is something we were not planning on! Andy and his crew surpassed our expectations. We highly recommend Paradigm Home Solutions to anyone who is considering waterproofing their basement."

"It went great. Billy Pearsall came over and fixed the problem the same day I called. Both our bathroom tub and sink never drained well, and now they do. Billy was competent, pleasant, polite, and respectful of our home. I highly recommend Valdel and Billy Pearsall."

"Efficient, professional and friendly service with competitive pricing. They responded within minutes, and another plus is that they didn't leave a mess behind after finishing the work. I have used them before for drain cleaning, but this was my first experience with them doing a more involved job."

"Mattioni’s master plumber did an EXCELLENT job replacing our spring house pump, pressure tank, and pressure gauge. Without being asked to help prevent freezing pipes in the winter they also installed new foam insulation around the connecting pipes."

"Our basement needed assurance that the existing sump pump could handle rising water levels under our home. It was recommended that we install a second sump pump alongside the existing one, with piping exiting water discharge to the outside. The Installer (Mr. Bernard W.) took care of everything in a very professional manner. His work was superb, especially clean and cosmetic in every respect. Thank you for your superior services!"

"They came in with their team and went right to work. Only a portion of the basement needed to be waterproofed. They drilled out a 10-inch wide portion of the concrete floor, put stones, pipe, more stones and re-concreted that portion of the floor. Painted that wall with waterproof paint leaving me the rest of the painting to do (my choice). Drilled a hole at the bottom of each cinderblock which drained into a grey baseboard material which then drained into the pipe and flowed into the sump pump. Replaced the old basement window and placed concrete around it. Installed a sump pump, placed the pipe through the wall, placing the water exit pipe into a flower bed. Adding a circuit breaker dedicated to the sump pump. They described everything they were going to do prior to the job and everything they did at the completion of the job. Also, explaining how the sump pump worked. The total cost was $4200.00. The best part they cleaned up after. Oh and before they did anything they placed plastic all around so as not to ruin anything in the basement. I did not have to lift a finger."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Instead of a security door, you might opt for a heavy-duty screen door made from durable mesh, which allows better sunlight and airflow. Additionally, you could enhance security by installing strong locks on your existing door. A double-cylinder deadbolt provides robust security; however, be aware that some local laws prohibit them due to safety concerns during emergencies.

To maintain a storm door's functionality and appearance, you should regularly clean the glass and frames, lubricate the hinges and other moving parts, and inspect the seals for any signs of wear.

There are several types of storm doors, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core, and each type has its own benefits. For example, vinyl-clad storm doors are excellent at keeping out water, while steel-clad storm doors hold up well against high winds. There are also multiple styles of storm doors, ranging from full-view (made entirely of glass) to high-view (with just a small glass panel).

Storm doors provide an additional barrier for your main entryway and offer several features that can help deter intruders. Many models have glass panels, which let you see who’s outside without opening the door, and others come with their own locks, creating an extra layer of security. For the highest level of protection, it’s best to combine storm and security doors, security cameras, and alarm systems.

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.
