"Many thanks to Anthony and Ralph for fixing the electrical issue in our master bathroom. They did great work! The best part about these guys is that they literally show you exactly what the problem was and how they were going to fix it. They also provided enough information upfront on what the cost would be. Also a big shout out to Anjeli, she was very pleasant and contacted us after all the work was done to see if we were satisfied. We will be using this company for future electrical services!"

"It was done by Mike Stapleford in the time and manner of a professional electrician with 30 years experience. He cleaned up after himself and was very pleasant. His charge was too low, and I increased the payment to amore reasonable amount. The following day, I gave his name and phone number at my company for use for future work there. I highly recommend Stapleford Electric."

"I chose Your Electric Now after much research and after getting two other estimates, and could not be happier. John came to the house and did a complete evaluation and estimate, and answered every one of my questions (there were many!) at that time, between then and the install, and during the installation. He and his crew showed up on time and worked for three full days. All work was completed as described, there were no hidden charges, and they did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend them for any electric work."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If you see sparking outlets, switches that feel hot, or smell burning odors in your Springfield home, these are strong indicators of electrical issues. Dimming lights when appliances start or persistent power interruptions also point to electrical problems. If your neighbors experience outages too, it may be a utility issue. Consult a local professional to accurately diagnose whether you need electrical repairs or another service.

Helpful?

In Springfield, if you notice frequent breaker panel trips, flickering lights, warm or discolored outlets, or still use two-prong outlets, it’s a sign your home may need electrical upgrades. Older homes, especially those built before 1960, often have outdated wiring. Schedule electrical projects before seasonal changes or renovations, and always plan ahead if you’re adding large appliances or preparing your home for sale.

Helpful?

The success of electrical work in Springfield depends on following state electrical codes, using high-quality materials, and ensuring proper installation—especially in basements or outdoor spaces where moisture is common. Hiring experienced professionals familiar with local housing styles and utility requirements is crucial. Planning for future electrical needs and protecting wiring from humidity or potential flooding will help ensure long-lasting upgrades.

Helpful?

Homes in Springfield built before 1980, those with 100-amp service or less, or properties with knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring are prime candidates for electrical upgrades. If you’re planning to add electric vehicle charging, expand living space, or rely heavily on extension cords, your home would benefit from updated electrical systems. Springfield’s established neighborhoods make these improvements especially valuable for safety and functionality.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Springfield, review local permit requirements and check for any homeowner association restrictions. Coordinate with your utility provider if a service upgrade is needed, and try to schedule projects outside peak busy seasons. Obtain multiple quotes from local professionals, budget for permit fees, and prepare for surprises common in older homes. Ensure clear access to all electrical areas and plan for required inspections.
