"Several years ago we had Pindro Roofing replace the siding on our house. We were very happy with the work and we contacted Pindro Roofing again when it was time to replace our roof. We are very glad that we did. The quote that George provided was very detailed on the work that would be done. George and Samantha were very quick to respond to questions that we had throughout the whole process, and the work was completed within our tight timeframe. The new roof looks amazing and you can tell that Pindro Roofing takes pride in their work. We will be sure to contact Pindro Roofing again for any future work that we need done!"

"This roofing company is PHENOMENAL!!! They greatly exceeded my expectations! I got a few quotes from other roofing companies and RMR roofing literally did it for half the price, I made the initial deposit and the next morning they were working until they finished! I’m so glad I chose them, I was so pleased that I’m referring them to everyone I know! They do amazing work and very neat and meticulous to the very detail. And they cleaned up and even cleaned my gutters and painted my vents as a courtesy. GREAT JOB GUYS!"

"MHI exceeded expectations! Had a minor leak during strong winds, which indicated our original roof urgently required replacement. Recommended by a coworker, MHI proved exceptional. Transparent throughout, they provided ample visuals, expertly addressed queries, and detailed the roofing process, our roof's condition, available solutions, and financing options. Communication was seamless, accommodating calls or texts. They completed the roof and gazebo replacement in just one day. For comprehensive service, choose MHI. I wholeheartedly endorse them and am willing to share my positive experience with anyone interested."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Fall is widely considered the best time of year to replace a roof. The moderate temperatures are ideal for roofing crews to work and for new shingles to seal properly. Additionally, autumn weather is often drier, reducing the risk of weather-related delays compared to the rainier spring season.

While spring is also a viable option, the higher chance of rainfall can slow down the project. The main drawback to a fall installation is that it's the peak season for roofers, which can lead to higher prices and scheduling challenges.

To potentially save money, you could consider scheduling your roof replacement during the summer or winter off-seasons. However, both seasons have significant disadvantages. Extreme summer heat can make shingles too soft to handle, while winter's cold, snow, and ice can create dangerous working conditions and prevent shingles from sealing correctly, as they typically require temperatures above 40-45°F.

Yes, an underlayment is required for metal roofs, especially when installed over an indoor residential living space. This underlayment acts as a protective barrier between the metal roofing and the roof deck. Common materials include tar, asphalt felt, or woven synthetic polymers. Depending on local building codes, existing shingles in good condition may also suffice. A quality underlayment is crucial as it provides protection against water intrusion, improves energy efficiency through insulation, helps absorb sound, and ultimately extends the lifespan of your roof.

Yes, installing a new metal or tin roof can increase your home's value. A metal roof's longevity and durability are major selling points for prospective buyers, as it means they likely won't have to worry about a roof replacement. These roofs can last 40 to 80 years, which is significantly longer than traditional asphalt roofs.

In terms of return on investment (ROI), homeowners may see an increase in home value of around $7,000 to $8,000, which can represent 60% to 70% of the installation cost. Another way to measure ROI is per square foot, which can range from $3.00 to $8.40, with higher returns in areas where a durable roof is particularly beneficial.

The warranty for algae-resistant shingles varies by manufacturer, but the industry standard is 25 years for overall shingle durability and lifespan and between 10 and 15 years for algae resistance. Some products come with longer warranties for discoloration of up to 30 years. Check warranty coverage for the shingle and algae protection before deciding on a roofing product.

No, you should not close or cover your gable vents in the winter. While it might seem logical to block cold air, heating your home creates hot air that rises and can cause condensation in the attic. If the vents are covered, this moisture becomes trapped, creating an ideal environment for mold and mildew. Keeping the gable vents open ensures proper ventilation, which helps dry out the attic, maintain even temperatures, and prevent moisture-related damage.
