"Several years ago we had Pindro Roofing replace the siding on our house. We were very happy with the work and we contacted Pindro Roofing again when it was time to replace our roof. We are very glad that we did. The quote that George provided was very detailed on the work that would be done. George and Samantha were very quick to respond to questions that we had throughout the whole process, and the work was completed within our tight timeframe. The new roof looks amazing and you can tell that Pindro Roofing takes pride in their work. We will be sure to contact Pindro Roofing again for any future work that we need done!"

"We hired Roofs R Us for a minor roof repair. A few of our shingles came off and needed to be replaced. They were very easy to work with, competent, polite, and came the next day. Would definitely recommend hiring this company!"

"They were the lowest bidder, but bid the job based on my description and pictures without actually seeing the roof (it s like many others in the area). It took a while to finally get on the schedule due to rain pushing back other jobs, which is understandable. The work took about 90 minutes for 2 people, replaced flashing and several slates. They said the roof was in bad shape, which didn t give me a good feeling that the leak was fixed, and would provide an estimate for a new roof - after putting on the new flashing. I guess I feel like if they had seen the roof before the bid, we might have had a different job. Still waiting for a substantial rain to see if leak has stopped. I ll update if I m able."

"I had a complete new roof installed by Planet Roof. This company was outstanding in every way. After they removed the existing shingles, they found more damage than expected, but Planet Roof took this in stride and picked up the additional materials needed to make the repairs. The end result was a beautiful new roof installed, same day. The roofers were skilled and their workmanship shows. The crew was very friendly. My metal shed had its roof ripped off by high winds and this crew saw that and put that roof back on for me as well. After they were all done, they cleaned up everything and after they left, there was no trace of them even being here at my home. If you need a new roof or repair, I would heartily recommend obtaining a quote from Planet Roof. I am very pleased with the work they did on my home."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

In Pittsburgh, be wary of roofing contractors who lack local project references or skip required permits. Unusually low bids, vague timelines, or requests for full payment upfront are warning signs. Avoid roofers who appear after storms without a physical business address. Always request a detailed contract and verify recent roof replacement or roof repair work completed in the Pittsburgh area.

Helpful?

Completing roofing projects in Pittsburgh offers immediate protection against the city’s heavy rainfall, snow, and fluctuating temperatures. In the long term, a new roof improves energy efficiency, reduces the risk of leaks in historic neighborhoods, and enhances curb appeal. Quality roof replacement also helps prevent mold and structural issues, ensuring your home withstands Pittsburgh’s unique weather for years to come.

Helpful?

In Pittsburgh, most roof replacements on standard homes take about 2 to 5 days. Larger homes or those with complex rooflines, like those found in Squirrel Hill or Mount Washington, may require 1 to 2 weeks. Minor roof repairs are often finished within a day or two, but spring and early summer can extend timelines due to increased demand and unpredictable weather.

Helpful?

Pittsburgh’s climate—with its frequent freeze-thaw cycles, heavy rain, and humidity—demands durable roofing materials and proper attic ventilation. Winter weather limits roof installation to urgent repairs, while spring and summer are ideal for full roof replacement. Selecting impact-resistant shingles and scheduling regular roof inspections help Pittsburgh homeowners protect against leaks, ice dams, and storm-related damage.

Helpful?

Your Pittsburgh home may need roofing work if you notice curling shingles, moss growth, or daylight visible in the attic. Homes with older slate or tile roofs, common in Pittsburgh’s historic districts, often require specialized roof repair or inspection. If your roof is over 15 years old or you’ve experienced recent storm damage, scheduling a professional roof inspection is recommended.
