"Three Rivers Brick Ponting & Cleaning is an EXCELLENT company! I am very pleased with their professional service. I’ve worked with them for almost 3-years regarding chimney and brick pointing. And they always give 110% performance! A few weeks ago, I noticed water was beginning to leak around the ceiling area of our chimney. The heavy rains were very unusual for the winter months. Nonetheless, I was concerned the problem would get worse if I waited until spring—so I called Dorin. He responded within 20-minutes! And two-days later he had workers on my roof making repairs. Today, my chimney and ceiling areas are “dry as a bone” (Smile). Thanks Dorin!"

"I wish this was a 5 or even 4 star review but it's not. This company is a mess, we had 2 crews, the first crew did pretty poor work, the second crew was better but there were still details missed. The first crew put over 2 dozen cuts into my wood window trim and while they said they'd come look at it, they have since ghosted me. I have spent numerous hours repairing this. Project management and quality is left largely to the customer. You better know what you want and what you're looking at to get work done by this company. My historic brick is common but they didn't bother to source any. I could have done so if I had known. After 3 rounds I finally got a brick that was close but it took calling upper management to make it happen. The mortar and the terracotta patch don't match existing despite me trying to coordinate with them ahead of time. Bottom line is details are always someone else's problem. The parts that are good are pretty well done but some of it is pretty sloppy."

Titan Roofing accepts cash, check and credit. There are no upfront costs to our home owners.

"I got an estimate in December 2018 and they scheduled the work for March. Originally, they said they would replace my gamble vent since that was the source of the leak. A week before the job, they called and said they fired that estimator and didn’t feel like the new gable vent was necessary. They took $100 off the estimate to seal things up. The next week, they arrived, but didn’t arrive until 7:30 PM! Just enough time to tear things apart but not fix anything. I couldn’t afford another day off, so when they came back to finish the job, I left the check on our porch. They did a horrible job. Amateurish at best. In fact, there was nails and debris everywhere. I cleaned it up myself. Best of all, it still leaks. I tried to get them back to fix it, but they have ignored my messages. Honestly, I don’t want them back on my property. Can’t trust this company."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Homeowners insurance may pay for chimney repair if the damage type is covered under your policy, such as lightning strikes, heavy storm damage, fallen trees, and unexpected chimney fires. However, if a fire or other damage is caused by poor or improper maintenance, a standard homeowners insurance policy won't cover repairs.

A 26-gauge metal roof panel can span between 4 and 8 feet, depending on a few factors. Local building codes dictate what’s appropriate for panel span, but these are normally based on expected snow loads. Additionally, the type of metal roof you choose will affect the maximum span, as corrugated metal is stronger than flat standing seam panels or a screw down roof and can often span greater distances.

Copper roof strips offer better coverage and more damage protection than zinc roof strips. Although both deter moss and algae growth, copper also offers UV protection. Zinc strips require more strips than copper to cover the roof’s surface area, which means more holes in your roof. Copper strips are also more flexible and last longer than zinc strips.

Yes, you can walk on a standing seam roof, but you should avoid stepping on the seams and instead walk on the flat portions. The seams are thin and provide less traction, and they don’t get direct support from the roof decking underneath, so they’re more likely to dent from added weight.

Copper roofing works well in all kinds of climates, but it’s ideal in humid climates because it naturally repels fungus, moss, and algae. This makes it one of the best roofing options for Cape Cod homes in the Northeast, as well as homes in the humid southern states and snowy northern states. That said, copper is vulnerable to thermal expansion. If you live in a climate that has extreme temperature changes, your contractor will need to consider this during the installation process.
