"I wouldn’t be writing this Review if one thing would have happened, TALK TO ME. Don’t place the answering service in the position of telling a Customer that the Supervisor has left for the day at 2.45p on a Thursday. Especially when the Horizon repairman had just fried our whole cooling system, including the thermostat!! What started with a bad fan motor in a new AC system that was only 3.5 years old in a $10,000 system, for which we had waited 4 days for the new motor to be installed. Add to that the fact that the repairman told me he would be at our home at 8.30a and didn’t arrive until 11.30a - after having to use a vacation day to wait at home for them to arrive. Then telling me this will be ‘quick’ all I have to do is switch out the motor by mounting it and plugging in the new one. Hours went by, nothing. He comes in to test the thermostat and it is non-responsive. He tells me to get new batteries, which I did. Then asks me, “these are new?” To which I say, ‘of course’ - you watched me take them out of the box. Then he goes out to his truck for the next 1.5hrs, supposedly speaks with his Supervisor and comes in and tells me that he has fried the system. I reply by saying I will be calling a senior person to speak with them. Called 4 times and never spoke with anyone. Each time I waited on hold for an extended period of time. Each time, I was then told by the answering service that someone would call and never did. Then at 2.45p I am told “everyone has left for the day” and no one would be calling. This was a Thursday, I had been home all day and no one would speak with me. We remain without an AC system, no plan, no calls - - nothing!!! If I could rate them a ZERO, I would,"

Had double charges every month, once for the oil they provided (which they never told me they were going to provide before coming. They just came without my knowledge and then I find a high amount bill) and another for an “automatic payment” for 500 that they never could explain. The didn’t even fix this issue and it kept happening every month even after I cancelled the service. Then having to call them is a hastié for the refund of the 500. Stay away of this company"

Alex returned my call that afternoon and came out the next day around noon and quickly diagnosed the problem and had our old unit running in about half an hour. In conversation with Alex I discussed the possibility of replacing my 17 year old unit which had been a problem with 3 previous service calls in the last year. Within a day he sent me an estimate which was very competitive and reasonable. Within 2 weeks he replaced both my compressor and air handler in a very hot attic. His team was very professional and completed the job in about 5 hours. Even in very hot weather his team remained focused and answered all my questions and concerns. He did not leave until everything was running and operating correctly. I would highly recommend Alex and Arctic Fire for any of your HVAC needs."
