Customers say: True professional

"Paul and his team (Tom, Miguel, and Jason) were all very personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. Paul saved us from what could have been a long and perilous sewer permitting and installation process and instead designed a simple, effective in-ground septic system. Tom and his crew did the installation expertly and quickly, and brought us in under budget. They even spread the extra stone from the job on our stone driveway! It was a pleasure to work with everyone involved."

"We called in the morning and Juan arrived at noon. He was here almost 3 hours. Initially, he thought he could get through with his regular motorized snake and he also said he'd have to replace the trap and the arm as it was welded to the pipe. The cost for both was to be $347. He worked for 2 and a half hours, replaced the trap and arm, though he had to cut through the old tiles to reach the T on the stack. He cleaned the connection from the second sink and was able to break through everything in the main pipe up till about the last 6 inches. There it was rock solid. So he had to go to a larger snake which upped the cost, but did the job without breaking the pipe. He substituted the cost of the large snake for the cost of the smaller one instead of charging for both and gave us a 10% d/c so we were pleased about that. It was a tough job and he persevered so we shouldn't have any further problems."

"Dan kept us up to date throughout the entire process.  This was a big job.  The township requires the installation of a masher pump system to hook up to the sewer main.  This required him to do a lot of research and phone calls to the proper officials to handle the details of the hookup.  He returns phone calls right away.  He'll hook you up with the right people to handle other projects as well, such as when we wanted our septic mound removed and our yard flattened out after the plumbing work was done.

"The job which was complicated replacing 2 Old Cesspools with tanks and a drain field. They gave me a date months out but showed up as scheduled. They handled all the permit work and left me with a freshly seeded lawn that came up great. This is a family business generations old. I was very pleased with a job well done. Highly recommended !"

"RCM came to reconstruct our draining system, as well as remove an oil tank from our front lawn. The draining system along side of our home was done very efficiently and so far has been operating beautifully. The oil tank in our front lawn was a lot more work than anticipated. To our surprise, the tank was larger than expected but Bob and his team adapted to the situation and took care of what needed to be done. Overall, Bob is very skilled in his line of work, and he and his team have done a great job with all of the work they’ve done for us. Would hire again!"

"They responded immediately and fixed the problem. While there we had them address a few other issues and they fixed them immediately and did not take advantage of us. We also had them come out in March 2013 because we were told that we needed a new well expansion tank by another company. They were honest and showed us that we did not need another tank. The tank was working fine. I would recomend these guys. They are good.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Some of the signs that could mean your water is contaminated, such as cloudiness or bubbliness, could also be non-problems that don’t affect your water’s potability. However, if your water smells or tastes strange, it’s a good idea to stop drinking it and test it immediately. If your well water is contaminated, the best way to discover that is to test it.

A septic smell may be harmful because sewer gas is dangerous depending on the exposure amount and length of time. Sewer gas is made up of multiple gases, including hydrogen sulfide, methane, ammonia, and carbon dioxide. Some of these gases, like hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, are toxic to humans and can be fatal in high concentrations or long exposures.

Never use Drano on blocked toilets. You can end up with a ghastly leak because the chemicals eat away at the glue that holds pipes together just as effectively as they do with clogs. Drano is known for being particularly rough on toilets, which is why some plumbers actually dislike the product.

Baking soda does very little to nothing for a septic tank, but it can help unclog a drain or clean out a garbage disposal. Rotten tomatoes and yeast are the best ways to increase the bacteria in your septic tank naturally. You can add these to your system once every three months.

There are a lot of issues that can cause a septic tank to collapse. Those include failing to regularly pump or service it every three to five years, placing too much weight atop the system—by parking your car on top of it or because of a heavy snow buildup for instance—or because of structural damage done by overgrown tree roots.
