PR Environmental Designs, Inc. provides over 20 years expertise in soil testing and design and construction of septic systems, storm water systems, public sewer connections, small flow treatment plants and landscape features. Our team of skilled and dedicated equipment operators and technicians have many years of experience in the installation and construction of septic and storm water systems. We provide creative and aesthetically pleasing solutions for drainage and erosion problems.

"I had another company design my septic system replacement, but Paul re-designed it to avoid having to remove a 50+ ft tall tree and added a drainage system for the water from the gutters. The old no-longer-up-to-code 2-cesspool septic system was replaced by a drainfield and Ecoflow septic tank. The work was done on the days I was told workers would be here (unlike the company that drew up the first set of specs), and Paul and Jon were always friendly and great to work with."

"They had a blank slate and still managed to do horrible work. Framed doors incorrectly, poor carpentry finish work, and completely inept at plumbing. Destroyed my downstairs toilet and sink because they flushed thinset and grout. Then, they wanted to violate the contract by saying there were change orders that were never discussed nor written down and signed by both of us. Was threatened in writing and verbally before I just paid them to go away. Stay away! I guess if you have a saw you can say you’re a carpenter?"

"John Gordon, GGI Construction, is a nightmare. He went into a livable house and turned it into an unlivable one. He started the project by attempting to circumvent the cities permit process. Once the city caught him he pulled the wrong permit. Soon after he had the property with 2 violations. He removed all copper pipes and heating system, and that wasn't part of the contract, and in doing so he cut a main electric line to the kitchen that will have to be replaced. And we had to put a new HVAC system in the house. He destroyed the water main, which leaked for about 6 months, flooding parts of the basement. He removed bathroom fixtures on the 2nd floor without turning the water supply completely off, flooding, and destroying, beautiful hardwood floors on the 1st floor. He installed new windows improperly making them inoperable. He left mountains of trash and debris in the yard. He destroyed newer kitchen cabinets he was supposed to refinish. He had a new roof installed that was deemed worthless and has to be done again. His crew urinated into open drains making the house smell like a sewer. His crew smoked in the house extinguishing cigarettes on, and burning, the hardwood floors. These are just the highlights. He finally abandoned the contract, and project, leaving us with a property that is unsellable, and stealing $80,000 from us. He has a criminal past for a weapon violation. DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON. You will regret it."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Many contractors offer warranties for parts and labor. Confirm terms before hiring.

You should never park or drive on top of a septic field. Vehicles can weigh upwards of two tons, and this weight can put a lot of pressure on the leach lines in the drain field. Too much pressure on your leach lines may cause them to warp, crack, or completely burst. This is an expensive and very avoidable problem.

Some signs that a septic tank is full include wastewater or even sewage backing up into drains in the house, foul smells coming up through the drains or around the yard, pooling water in the yard, spongy soil underfoot around the septic tank, gurgling noises in the pipes, or grass that looks lusher or greener than normal without any new lawn care services.

A well pressure tank is located between the well and the well pump, and it stores your water under pressure so that the well pump can eventually do its job. The well pump is activated whenever you turn a faucet on—it pulls the water from the tank into your home. Both are vital parts of a complete well water system.

The size of your septic tank plays a role in determining the proper size of the drain or leach field. As a general rule, you should have 1 square foot of drain field size per gallon of septic tank capacity. However, you could install a leach field that’s as much as 2.5 square feet per gallon of septic tank capacity. Most professionals determine the right septic tank size and drain field size by the number of bedrooms in the house. A three-bedroom house needs a minimum 1,000-gallon septic tank, for example.
