"Was introduced to him by a friend; he did some pretty major carpentry work on the floor of my house which was starting to sag. He was very responsive and professional throughout, and left everything clean and orderly. Definitely would hire again"

"Lyman was recommended to us by our friends, We Hired Lyman to get our house baby ready. He installed all the baby proofing hardware and gates, painted the nursery, fixed holes in the walls, tested for lead, and removed flaking paint and plaster. He showed up on time, work was done according to the agreed upon budget, and he has a great taste in music so we were all happy! Heâ ll be back to work on a few more projects."

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning, avoiding moisture exposure, and using appropriate protective products.

Yes, there are several wood filler products on the market that look like wood. Your best bet is to take a cabinet door to your local hardware store to match the appropriate wood filler to your door. Some brands make filler that is masked to look like wood and can also be sanded, cut, stained, and painted.

Whether it is worth it to ship your bedroom furniture depends on your priorities, but it can be hard to decide. You should ship your bedroom furniture if the pieces have sentimental or antique value and if it will make you happy to have them in your new home. But if your mattress or box spring is worn out (the average lifespan of a bed is seven to ten years), it's probably not worth the money or effort to ship if you’re moving somewhere where bedroom furniture is readily available.

Cupping and bowing are both types of wood warping, but they affect the board in different ways. Cupping happens when the edges of a board curl upward or downward, creating a concave or convex shape across its width. Conversely, bowing is when the board curves along its length, forming a gentle arc.

Professionals use resin fillers, diamond polishing pads, and sealants to restore the surface.
