"Had a new Heating and AC unit put in. These guys are absolutely awesome. They are friendly and considerate and work very hard to make sure everything is done right. They consistently kept me updated on what was going on and explained everything they were doing in detail. If there was something I didn't understand, they happily explained what they were doing. They are a new company but don't let that fool you. The owner has many years of experience and knows what he is doing. I will only ever use these guys for all of my HVAC needs in the future. So glad I got them to do my HVAC work! Thank you Eliseo and Orlando! You guys are the best."

"Fast response to my inquiry, great prices and excellent customer service. Had alot of questions, not being familiar with having a heat pump, recently bought this house, and they explained my system to me so I that actually understood what to expect and watch for. So helpful! If I could give more than 5 stars for customer service I would!!! Will definitely use them for all my future HVAC needs and so should you."

"We were extremely pleased with Mark Hamar and his team, David Rose and Jeff Hall. The team arrived on schedule and all the work was completed as requested. The team worked well together, were very professional and pleasant. We went with the 2.5 ton Bryant heat pump which replace a 25+ year old system. We had only moved in to our modular home about a year ago and new the replacement was needed within 3 years. We went ahead and had it replaced before going through another winter and worrying whether it would hold up. The previous owners had a dog and the duct cleaning proved very beneficial. We would highly recommend this company for any HVAC work needed."

"Very well. Wayne is very personable and gave a thorough assessment of what it would cost to connect both the cold water line and ice maker line to the new refrigerator, so that both could run simultaneously."

"This company was referred to us by a co-worker. We had 4 separate units that needed repair on our commercial building. The service was fast, professional, and courteous. Most important, the price was very reasonable! I will continue to use V & E for any future HVAC issues and would highly recommend this company to troubleshoot HVAC repairs!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.

Evaporator coils in HVAC systems typically last around 10 to 15 years. However, their life span can be longer or shorter based on factors like the frequency of your HVAC system usage, whether regular maintenance is performed, and environmental conditions. Regular maintenance, such as HVAC system cleaning and coil inspection, can extend the durability and efficiency of your evaporator coil.

You can buy a new AC capacitor through most big-box home improvement stores, from an HVAC contractor, or from the manufacturer. Use the model number of your air conditioning unit to make sure you purchase the right part for your unit. Also, keep in mind that the cost of this type of part can vary significantly depending on who you purchase it from, so shop around to get the best price.

If your whole house is cold that’s one thing, but what if you only have a few rooms that are cold? First, you need to determine why this may be happening. A good place to start is to investigate the potential causes listed in this article—heat transfer, airflow, thermostat problems, humidity, and insulation. Once you’ve narrowed down the issue, you’d apply the same principles to the cold rooms as you would to the entire home.
