"HVAC Ministries came out on the same day, which is impressive. We had no heat and our water heater was leaking. It is difficult to get services out here to the coast at times. Mr. Cortes was very informative and explained in detail the work needed to be done. He came out on the 29th and they started work on the 31st. ( New Years Eve) They worked all day and into the night! They got it All done in one long day! Impressive! I recommend HVAC Ministries they are excellent, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves leaving no mess. Mr. Cortes and his crew were very professional and pleasant."

"It was really a great experience from the very beginning. I found them online, on an advertisement on my phone. I clicked on the ad, which led me to their website. I filled out the contact form and within 2 hours someone called me to make an appt. They explained over the phone that it would be an "arrival window" of 3 hours, and I was expecting something like that. They called this morning to let me know they were on their way, which I thought was very nice. The technician, Dave, arrived at the very beginning of their "arrival window", which was also nice. The technician arrived in a nice, professionally lettered company van, which I appreciate. You'd be surprised how many companies DON'T do that. Dave was in a nice uniform, seemed clean-cut and pleasant. I showed the him around to where my furnace, thermostat and A/C unit were and left him to do his thing. All I had requested of them was a tune-up and just a once-over on both the furnace and the A/C unit. Just some preventative maintenance, so that we wouldn't have any problems [that could have been prevented] this winter with the furnace or next spring when we went to turn on the A/C unit. He did find some things that needed replaced and cleaned out with our A/C unit and said he was surprised to hear it was still working well. It would have probably failed next season if we hadn't have had him out to fix these problems. There wasn't much wrong with our furnace, but I was glad he checked it out. He replaced our screens in our furnace. That was cool that this was included as part of the service call. He also stayed and talked with me for 5-10 minutes about the age of my furnace, what to keep an eye out for, and how much longer I should expect it to last. That was very nice and I could tell he really knew his business well, which added to my confidence in this company. The service took about 90 minutes and I felt the price they charged was very fair. It was probably more than some companies charge, but I would rather have a really professional outfit for a little more money than save money and have a less professional company. So to me, the rate I paid was a good value. I was just impressed all the way around with this company and with Dave. I'd recommend this company to anyone looking for HVAC work. They are a professional outfit, all the way down the line.

"WOWWW! Above & beyond service, courteous & knowledgeable technician, and fair pricing... what more could you want?! I contacted Air Control Systems via Angie's List and (literally) within minutes received a phone call. They were able to send a technician out that same day (rare in todays service industry!) at no extra charge. Nathan was very personable yet prompt. He fixed the issue, while also checking everything else out to ensure peak performance moving forward. The cost was very fair, and I will not be using ANY other company for HVAC issues in the future! Outstanding!"

"Jesus did a wonderful job. Our ducts hadn't been cleaned in forever; dirt and dust would fly constantly ever time the furnace came. Fast, efficient service. Excellent price, senior and veteran discount. Highly recommend this to anyone who is needing this service."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling.

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.

Mold in your air conditioner isn't a good thing, as it can be harmful to your health. If the mold travels through the ductwork or is blown out of the A/C, you and your family can inhale mold spores and develop respiratory illnesses and other problems. Preventing mold from growing in the air conditioner will help protect your health.

Dry mode positively impacts indoor air quality by reducing excess moisture, which stops the growth of mold and mildew. By maintaining optimal humidity levels, dry mode creates a less hospitable environment for allergens and airborne pathogens, improving overall air quality. However, it's essential to ensure proper ventilation to prevent stale air accumulation.

When a compressor gets overheated in central air systems or heat pumps, it can still cool your home for a while until it eventually gives out. If the compressor is chronically overheated and no one addresses the root cause, it will create an incredibly expensive problem when your entire HVAC system breaks down and stops working altogether.

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is not legally required for HVAC technicians in most areas, but hiring a professional with this certification is highly recommended. NATE-certified technicians demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in different types of HVAC systems, offering assurance of quality service. It's a voluntary certification, yet it indicates a commitment to professionalism and ongoing training. Choosing a NATE-certified technician often means you're working with someone who is up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, which can lead to better service, energy efficiency, and long-term cost savings.
