Customers say: True professional

"I highly recommend GI Landscape. The owner, Israel is fantastic to work with and his crew are efficient and do excellent work. We have used this company to build a paver patio, fire pit with pavers, fencing and to plant a row of trees and numerous landscape plants. They provided excellent landscape ideas, offered fair pricing, arrived on time and left the area clean. We are so pleased with the results and have no hesitation in recommending this company."

"These guys were great. Always answered my calls, texts in a timely manner, performed all the work we had discussed and then some ( went the extra mile when I asked to get us more plants at the last minute)! My experience with other landscapers were they never returned calls and seemed to have difficulty finding the plants we wanted - Sherpa Landscaping came through and did an excellent job - highly recommend!!!"

"Tony has worked for us for about five years. He tends to our yard weekly, and year-around. Tony is more knowledgeable than any of the yard maintenance workers we have used. He is dependable, timely, honest and professional. Because we have a large, complex yard, he has a complex job to do. We have 25 hydrangeas, many flowering bushes, numerous varieties of trees and more than 20 roses. There are parts of the yard that are hardscape, some barked-in areas, extensive flowerbeds, and three grassy areas. Tony mows, edges, trims, blows debris, and removes it on a weekly basis. During the winter months, he blows leaves (and we have a lot of them!), prunes, thins, and removes the debris from our yard. Because of his pruning knowledge, he prunes azaleas, arborvitae, and many other bushes, He also saves us additional tree service costs by thinning out larger trees. Tony knows what he is doing in all yard care areas. This year he aerated our grass, removed moss, re-seeded and fertilized our lawns. We are picky about our yard, and Tony is the guy we turn to if we have need of yard care expertise. We highly recommend him."

"We have hired JCA Landscape for numerous projects: 1. Move sprinkler control valves to a new location in yard. 2. Install paving stones in a 50 x 15ft area. This included the installation of a 50ft trench drain and a block wall in front of the deck. See pics 1 thru 4. pic4 is the before paving stones. 3. Dig/lay/cover ~60ft trench for electrical line between house and shed. 4. Replace water well shroud and repair water leak in the main water line to the house. All of the projects were completed in a timely manner. Their response to doing things that we asked along with changes, was professional and helpful. Many suggestions were given by them and accepted by us for the paving stone project. They have been the best contractors we have ever hired!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Yes, many providers offer organic or eco-friendly treatments. Confirm availability with your contractor.

Xeriscaped lawns are far more varied than many gardeners initially assume. The often-pictured rocky and cacti-filled landscapes are just one option. Many wildflower-, herb-, and mulch-covered landscapes follow the same principles without straying too far from the lush and colorful landscapes we have come to know. In fact, there are numerous xeriscape ideas for customizing an energy-efficient lawn to your liking.

Yes, rock gardens do need water. That said, they typically require less regular watering and, instead, more occasional, deep watering since the rocks trap moisture for longer than mulch. Make sure you don’t water your rock garden too much during the winter.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

Yes, you can absolutely transplant bushes instead of removing them completely. The success depends on the size of the bushes, their age, and the transplanting season. Ideally, transplant during the dormant season (late fall or winter). Dig out the entire root system in one piece, fill the new hole with fresh soil and mulch, and water thoroughly after planting.
