"Our entire back patio was demoed and the pool was given a new everything including a new bottom profile, new steps, coping, and tile. We added a safety auto-cover and pit, relocated a skimmer, Hydrazzo pool plaster and porcelain tile patio with channel drains to eliminate water pooling. Joe also faced our retaining wall behind the pool with natural stone and added a set of wide stairs from the pool to the back lawn. We say all this to let people know that Joe and his crew have a broad skillset for anything related to pools and the hardscape around them. They are terrific to work with, professional and conscientious about the property and their work. We highly recommend Joe and his company for exceptional work. I now look out to our pool every day and think what a beautiful space we have to enjoy with our family and friends for many years to come. Thank you Joe!"

"They were not familiar with my unit and when they did do the fix they disconnected a safety that prevents you from getting shock. That’s why I’m giving them a C.  They came out within a week so that was quick. The repair man that they send out needed to have a better understanding of basic hot tub wiring. It took less than 60 minutes."

"Garcia his tile guy is great, and a very hard worker..would hire him again...communication with George is bad and clean up had to keep calling back. Still not the way it was before they started. I think there were over booked and it took way to long to get things done. Everyone is pleasant, just not a lot of follow through on George's part."

"Got a call within 5 minutes of posting here on SM. He was persistent in calling back a few times and so I decided to give him a try. David quickly found the problem with my machine and also was quick to come back the next day and install the new pump. I would have given him 5 stars, but the cost to fix this was almost 2/3rd the cost of a new washer on sale @ Home Depot. However I went with him as I was still saving some money and my machine is less than 4 years old."

"Cretec performed admirably. They offered an attractive price, started when they said they would, and finished in a very timely manner. There were no complaints from our tenants or the neighbors. We are using them again on another project at another property. Spencer and his crew were very professional throughout the job, and kept the site protected, clean and neat while under construction."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.
