"Our old house had so many layers of paint that it needed a lot more prep work than we had realized. Peeling paint on the body of the house was obvious but the fancy turned posts on the porch had so much paint on them that we couldn't really see the pattern until they stripped all the paint off. We felt that they went way beyond what we had expected and are so happy with the results. They are meticulous painters, they're punctual and they took great care in cleaning up the work site every day. 'A's' for everything but there should be another box to check off labeled 'patience'. In spite of indecision and lots of questions on our part, they remained cheerful and upbeat. Our house looks great now and we would gladly recommend them to anyone."

Excellent work, very professional and courteous. This project required some knowledge/expertise as it was being done on a 90 year old home and involved lathe and plaster and sheetrock both. Once complete, the only evidence they had been there was the ceiling patch was done! Would recommend them to any and all needing drywall work."

I began painting in 1973 to work my way through college and continued after graduation. "These guys did an AMAZING job. I wanted some new awnings before my paint job, and Dan hooked me up with one of his guys who created 3 beautiful awnings for me and fixed up some siding that had rotted before the rest of the painters came in. On a whim, I asked if Dan’s crew could complete the external paint job in time for a big birthday party I was hosting and he managed to knock it out with time to spare WHILE HE WAS HAVING HEART SURGERY. I mean, if that’s not above and beyond I really don’t know what is. The crew was fantastic and accommodating, and they were laughing and seemed to really enjoy the work, which is always a welcome thing to know that the people working on your home enjoy what they do. For a random Angi find, these guys surpassed my every expectation AND did it all at a reasonable cost and within a reasonable timeline. I can’t recommend them enough."

Exterior painting services FAQs
You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. For a more accurate estimate, subtract the square footage of the windows and doors from the initial square footage total. It’s a good idea to plan for an extra gallon of paint to make sure you have enough to finish the job.
To calculate the square footage of a home exterior, painters multiply the length of the wall by the height of the wall to be painted. Then they add the total square footage for all of the walls to be painted. To calculate the price, they multiply the total square footage by their cost per square foot to prep and paint. Additional costs may factor in such as repairs, additional trim, and walls higher than the first story.
The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
You should apply at least two coats of paint when painting the exterior of your house. Two coats of paint provides better durability and more even coverage than just one coat.
