"I had a great experience working with John Sandu, President of Absolute Temp Control. If you need your furnace repaired, and aren't sure who to trust, don't worry, this man is exactly the kind of person you want. Yesterday my furnace stopped working. I called him this morning, explained that yesterday I smelled something that smelled like burning coming from the furnace outlets, and then it stopped entirely. I thought the motor was fried or something serious had happened and I was in for an expensive repair. He managed to work me in today, and he came out, took a look, found a fried capacitor, repaired it in 10 minutes, and was on his way. It was a very inexpensive repair - no games from this guy. I have had bad experiences with others in this business, and I had to make several calls before I decided to go with Absolute Temp Control. I am so glad I did, and next time I need help w Furnace or A/C, there is only one number I am sure I can call for a fast, fair, quality repair. I absolutely recommend John Sandu."

"Landon was quick to respond and did the repair much sooner than I could hope for. He answered all of my questions patiently and was very upfront about what was needed, he also went beyond my expectations with his attention to detail in the finish work and going the extra mile to see that all my concerns were met."

"I hired Joshua to do a master bathroom remodel and can't say enough about the quality, professionalism and integrity that he displayed throughout the entire process. Not only was he thorough, skilled, punctual, neat and communicative,, his subcontractors were as well. Joshua treated his trades people with respect and consideration and that was reflected in the work that they did for him on my job. Together they delivered a project that was both on time and beautifully executed. I was an interior designer for many years and worked with a myriad of different contractors. Joshua stands head and shoulders above anyone I have worked with previously and I would not hesitate to recommend Rutledge Construction."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.

Regular meetings, reviewing drafts, and providing input on materials help align the project with your vision.

Building permits serve a few purposes, the most important of which is to keep you and the people around you safe by ensuring your contractor does work safely and to code. Permits also help your municipality tax your property appropriately, as taxes are based on land improvements and the upgrades you make to your home. Finally, permits ensure your project won’t have a negative impact on the environment or your neighbors.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.
