"JR Insulation is a great company!! They did everything from start to finish as promised, on time, polite, clean, and on budget. I can't recommend them enough. They also fixed a problem that I created in my own ignorance for free just to make me even happier. I told them it wasn't necessary but they insisted. JR's pricing was the absolute best for everything they did. Not the lowest bid but the lowest price to value, which in my opinion is the lowest bid. I would use they again, in fact, I would not use any other company for insulation or dry wall. Brian"

"The guys at NW Weatherization did an excellent job installing additional insulation in my attic and crawlspace. They also reattached the exhaust fan boot. I can tell that the added insulation is helping keep my home warmer since the furnace doesn't come on as often and run as long. Thank you Ryan and everyone at NW Weatherization!"

Small jobs welcome

"Ulises was able to get in quickly and get the job completed insulating my shop ceiling trusses with batt insulation. I would have preferred white FSK instead of clear plastic but it would have put me way over budget Overall they did a good job"

"Westside Drywall was the only firm willing to do what I requested, which was to repair and not replace under-floor insulation. As a result, their price was much lower. An added bonus was that they could schedule the job in a few days instead of a few weeks or months."

"2 Pro Construction insulated under my home and also installed new siding. Alan is accountable and easy to contact. There was one hiccup in the job but he was very fair and I was extremely happy with the end result. A few weeks after the job was completed I had a Pest Control Company come out, the man said he goes under many homes but has never seen a better job than 2 Pro did. He said was so clean and meticulously done that he would eat his lunch under there! Alan also sent me pictures of the underneath so that I could see their fabulous job. I would highly recommend 2 Pro Construction."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Pairing insulation service with upgrades like air sealing, attic ventilation, or HVAC improvements in Portland is highly effective. Coordinating these projects can reduce labor time and maximize home energy efficiency. Completing multiple upgrades together may also help you qualify for local energy efficiency rebates, making your home more comfortable and reducing drafts, especially during Portland’s damp winters.

Helpful?

In Portland, frequent rain and fluctuating temperatures make moisture control a top priority for insulation service projects. Choosing insulation types like closed-cell spray foam or rigid foam board helps resist dampness and prevent mold. Installers often recommend vapor barriers and attic insulation upgrades to combat condensation. Scheduling work in late spring or early fall can minimize weather-related delays and ensure optimal installation conditions.

Helpful?

In Portland, attic insulation service typically takes one to two days, while wall or crawl space insulation may require up to three days. Whole-home insulation projects, especially those including air sealing, can take about a week. Weather conditions and permit approval from the city can sometimes extend timelines, so planning ahead—particularly in the busy summer months—is recommended.

Helpful?

Due to Portland’s damp climate, insulation service projects benefit from annual inspections for moisture intrusion, pest activity, and ventilation blockages. Homeowners should check attic insulation for settling, ensure vapor barriers remain intact, and look for signs of mold or mildew. Spray foam insulation is low-maintenance but should still be inspected periodically, especially after heavy rainfall or seasonal changes.

Helpful?

In Portland, you’ll find several contractor types for insulation service, including dedicated insulation specialists, full-service energy efficiency contractors, attic insulation experts, spray foam insulation professionals, and general contractors for larger remodels. Some HVAC contractors also offer insulation upgrades. It’s important to choose a contractor experienced with Portland’s moisture challenges and knowledgeable about local energy efficiency requirements.
