"We moved into a new condo which had mirrored sliding doors with shelves in the master bath and also mirrored sliding doors for both hall closets.  We did not like the mirrored doors for fear of them breaking.  The master bath had ample storage space behind the mirrored doors.  We decided to remove them and have a large wood cabinet built (94" x 75").  Charles knows a master cabinet maker who created the cabinet with deep drawers and shelving.  The drawers are ideal for towels and sheets.  With his crew, they also removed the mirrored sliding doors of the hall closed  and replaced them with sliding slated wood doors.  Additionally, Charles installed two new shower heads in two bathrooms.  The cabinet in the bathroom is beautiful and transformed the space.   Charles is becoming our de facto contractor.  He obtains quality products and does quality work.

"John came at the scheduled appointment time, did a coupe door test runs, and then slightly adjusted driving unit force. That was it! Now it works almost like a brand new unit! He didn't even ask me to pay anything saying that no real work had been done. He took some time going with me over options I have to install a new door opener when the old one will start failing. He sounded very professional not trying to talk me into expensive deals and suggested only units that would suit my needs. When the time comes to replace my old unit, I'm definitely calling the Ever-Green Garage Doors and highly recommending others to do so as well!"

"I needed several small repairs done to the exterior of my house prior to having it painted, which Walt and his wife did beautifully. They also replaced the deck on my shed, and did a wonderful job on that as well. They were quick to respond to my initial request for a bid, accomplished the work within my time frame, did quality work, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were also quiet and courteous while doing the work.

I have some interior jobs that will need to be done in the near future, and you can be sure I will call Walt for his assistance when the time comes."

"Rebuilt two back decks on my home. Nick did outstanding work for a fraction of what it would have cost to hire one of the big contractors. I intend to use him again."

"Overall, this job was basically all done by us coordinating with the subcontractors, who were all very nice. The owner who we hired however was disorganized, rarely around, never did any kind of inspection on the work done by the subs. Tried to sell us a window that we couldn't install because it wouldn't have been to code, then after we got the new one ordered and installed, he left the old one on the side of our house for weeks until we said we were going to take it to the dump...overall, the job looks pretty good, but a lot of little issue we had to have another contractor fix to finish it.

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

There is often confusion between fleas versus ticks, bedbugs, carpet beetles, lice, fungus gnats, and flea beetles. Learning how to identify and differentiate between these insects is key for effective treatment. If you are unsure, it's always best to consult with a pest control professional who can properly identify the pest and provide the best treatment options.

You’ll want to call a licensed and insured wildlife removal company that offers:

  • Full property inspection—indoor and outdoor

  • Proper animal identification

  • Written management plan with follow-up visits included

  • Humane removal techniques

  • Preventative exclusion measures

If it’s an emergency and you can’t wait, you’ll need to contact an emergency animal control company near you.

It’s very rare that home insurance covers an exterminator. Pest problems aren’t covered under standard home insurance. They’re typically considered ongoing events that could have been prevented, which makes them ineligible. Some insurance companies will specifically ban termite and rodent services because costs can be high. However, a sudden and unstoppable infestation, especially one that resulted because of a sudden event like storm, may be covered. Call your insurance company and ask about the details if you aren’t sure.

Stink bugs are herbivores, so they do not bite. Their mouths are designed for feeding on plants. They do not have a stinger either, so the worst part of these pests is the foul odor they emit when they are disturbed. However, you want to avoid allowing an infestation to set in, so you should consider calling an exterminator if you are struggling to get rid of them.

While taking a shower can help wash away fleas and their dirt from your body, it may not completely get rid of all of them. However, if you wash your clothes and bedding in hot water and dry them on the highest heat recommended for the fabric, it can further reduce the possibility of an infestation. However, even if just a few are left, they can reproduce and take over again, so it’s best to take additional measures and call a flea exterminator to ensure they’re gone for good.
