"So far it has been great. One of two baths has been installed. Very happy with the first floor walk in shower. Will have to wait and see about the upstairs full bathtub/shower combination installation. Five Stars for both Teams that worked on the downstairs walk in shower. I don't remember the names of the two guys who performed the demolition, but they were great, very professional. Same for the installation team, Felix and Jordan. Thank you for a job well done."

"I have used this service twice, first to work on finishing the basement in my 1930 house. They did a fabulous job of transforming a drab, cold space into an inviting area. They did everything from giving me a much needed linen c!oset, removing cheap and dated paneling and adding texture and paint to the walls, and turning a dark and scary stairway into a bright and beautiful passage. I rehired them last year to work on my dark and dingy kitchen. It is now a beautiful, world class kitchen. They took out the old false ceiling and now I have beautiful high ceilings. They cabinets were old and varnished but serviceable. I didn't want to destroy them, so Lo's stripped off the old varnish and painstakingly painted them. While they stayed very c!ose to my original plan, they offered advice that helped being the whole kitchen together. My once sad little kitchen is now one of my favorite rooms in the house. I had an old pipe burst earlier this month, causing damage to my beautiful basement. I am in the process of hiring Lo's for the third time. Take a look at the before and after pictures of the kitchen! Thank you Amadou!"

"My husband and I recently sold our home and subsequently purchased a condo to live in during retirement. The condoâ s layout and build quality were perfect for us; but, the interior was somewhat dated. At the recommendation of our interior designer, we called upon Paliy Construction to measure and provide a bid to replace the existing carpet with hardwood throughout the condo, including on the stairs and in the elevator. Additionally, we asked for a bid to resurface the fireplace, change out the tile on the kitchenâ s backsplash, and change out the counter, sink and faucet in the powder room. Art Paliyev answered his phone when I first calledâ despite it being early evening. Two days later a young gentleman met us at the condo. He was very knowledgeable and walked us through exactly how they would approach the job and, shortly after, sent a bid via email. Although we initially intended to seek additional bids we were so impressed by the professionalism of the company and so pleased with the final bid that we immediately gave them the â go ahead.â We could not be more pleased with either the ongoing communication or the quality of the work. Our oak floors, granite and glass tile turned our condo into a showplace. The workmanship is superb! Without exception, the employees and sub-contractors were polite, skilled, and each demonstrated a strong work ethic I highly recommend Paliy Construction for any build or remodel. Should the need arise, we will be calling upon them again! Karen Camas, WA"

"I had an old Canary yellow cast-iron tub, and replaced it for a beautiful new, safe, walk-in shower with some extra goodies. I felt the seamless one piece, water tight wall was a huge benefit and no caulking in the corners. The installer, Sang, was very enjoyable and did a fantastic job. What surprise me was, how much more money the other companies that offer acrylic were asking, it didn’t make sense. They are in their five stars."

"JDI recently completed a major remodel in Vancouver WA. They updated the kitchen with new custom walnut cabinets, appliances, and granite countertops, and they remodeled two and a half bathrooms with new custom vanities, granite countertops, mirrors, lighting, porcelain floor-and-shower tiles, and a classic bathtub in the master bathroom. They even painted the entire townhome and gave it a deep cleaning. Art and Alex did a great job. Art gave good suggestions and helped pick out materials and appliances that fit my budget. Alex supervised the work and made sure everything was completed on time. The place looks beautiful. Although were not the cheapest bid, but they did very high quality work and have a top notch team. I highly recommend this team."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

Professionals can enhance bathroom aesthetics by recommending and implementing design elements such as modern fixtures, high-quality tiles, and efficient layouts. They ensure cohesive style, compliment functionality, and an enhanced visual appeal in the space.

A peeling bathtub is not a good thing. It’s a sign that the finish is coming off, and continued exposure to water and cleaning products can continue to damage the finish and eventually the underlying structure of the tub. What starts as a few chips or flakes can worsen into large chunks peeling off.

There are several ways to save money on a bathroom remodel through proper planning and savvy design strategies. To reduce costs, consider the following:

  • Purchase your own materials: Buy your own bathroom fixtures, hardware, and other materials to avoid contractor upcharges and delivery fees.

  • Shop smart for big-ticket items: Save on pricey items like tiles and tubs by shopping sales and at discount stores.

  • Avoid major layout changes: Keep plumbing in its current location. Opt to replace fixtures rather than moving them to avoid significant renovation work.

  • Focus on high-impact, low-cost updates: Make affordable but impactful smaller changes, such as upgrading hardware, installing new lighting, and adding stylish but economical accessories.

  • DIY where possible: Handle easier parts of the remodel yourself, like painting or installing light fixtures, to save on labor costs.

  • Time your remodel strategically: Consider remodeling in the spring, which tends to be a lower-demand time of year and may result in lower costs.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.
